Enterprise-Proving Ground spoilers

“Son of a bitch!” says Archer.

“This sucks” says the Xindi.

“Well, that went well” says Andorian Commander Strahn.

Well, Kirk cussed sometimes.

I give it a B. I wish Bakula could act.
They had me fooled, and I can figure out who done it watchingtaching Monk.
Well, sometimes.
Certainly part of the arc.
So who sent the message? I vote for the Leftenant hanging out with Reed.

Wow, from your stellar review I guess this is the episode that saves Enterprise from cancelation. w00t

Thank you my Northern Friend, thank you.
Standard stuff, I guess, but it plays off character development. We trust Strawn because he has proven to be a Good Guy.
I’m glad, though. I thought he and Archer were going to start playing water polo together or something.

Do the antennae move with motors or wires?

The antennae are actually costumed very tiny people glued to the actors scalp.

Does Hoshi get naked? Does Travis talk? Does Archer furrow his brow? Does Trip punch something? Does T’Pol use her flotational devices in case of water landings?

And even more importantly, does Porthos get any lines?

I’ll see it Wed. night. [Killick]Which I’m watching as fast as I can, ain’t I?[/Killick]

That sounds painful…

Teaser:

Recap of entire arc to date. And then a short exchange on an Andorian ship about being in the expanse.

I love blue women! This Andorian Lt looks very familiar. Will have to look up who she is.

The hell is this, a dating service?

Act I:

Good POV shot of Xindi War Room.

YES! They did have back up. “Redundant Memory Core.” Only 30%, though.

Lots of good establishing shots in scene transitions. Who’s directing this one?

Cool anomoly effect.

Everyone but Phlox has had a line so far.

Andorians like T’Pol Panda! Shrann was really eyeing her.

His rant about the Vulcans seems right on the money. But, what is his motive…?

Finally, a scene showing ongoing repairs. ND of course.

I know Kn(*)ckers hated Fish Lips, but I still think T’Pol is a babe.

Ah… Andorian Ale. It’s blue! The antennae quivering as Shrann takes shots of it was funny.

Someone who wanted to save money.

Act II:

The uninhabited system is Bikini Atoll. A weapons “Proving Ground.”

I like Shrann. His realistic assessment of the Xindi weapons was refreshing. His chat with Tripp about his sister was enlightening.

Archerite? :stuck_out_tongue:

The Andorians are well written. Why can’t we see more of this kind of quality?

Malcolm’s gonna get him some blue on his phaser! wink wink

The Xindi mini death star is a cool FX, too.

The Fish? Does Picard know about this? I sense more Xindi Temporal Cold War mischief!!!

Act III:

Tie in with previous episode about the sloth guy.

So, the Blues want the Xindi weapon for themselves! Of course…

“It’s not the weapon, it’s the person who weilds it, big boy.”

Yeah, Quantum was stupid to jeopardize his mission. was too impatient, you sonnavabitch

According to the episode guide, the only female guest cast member is named Molly Brink. Google didn’t turn up much.

Nor does IMDB list much.

Climax:

{an aside} Quantum’s accepting Shrann’s offer was not a good choice and it’s pretty unbelievabl considering the importance of his ultimate mission.
How did Quantum get back to Enterprise ? Di I miss a beam out or something?

Quantum’s bluff is ultra cool. Wasn’t a bluff!

Denoument:

The Andorians are still cool, even with the deception. The anonymous scan record was a nice touch.

Well, it was okay…

The Andorians are what made this episode. I found myself siding with them over Quantum.

It seemed lacking, though. I think the major plot hole of having Quantum trust Shrann with the mini death star is the killer for me. Other than major bit of bad writing, the show would’ve been great.

One more example of getting this close.

Again, no preview of next week! It’s a trap! The series is truly doomed if UPN is treating it this way.

The Andorians put him in an escape pod and told Enterprise where to pick him up. It’s not a big deal, but they did make it fairly obvious…

Shran put Archer in an escape pod.

When Reed saw Talas messing with whatever, he checked on her.
He says “You were right Sir; if I hadn’t checked on Talas it would have been much worse”
I think they knew about the deception and planned accordingly.

Thanks to the C guys for finding Molly Brink. Not much info on her at all. Maybe she just reminds me of someone I know in real life. It’s the voice.
The voice! Of course! She sounds just like Tammy, my last ex.

Glad i worked that out. Kind of looks like her, too. Tall skinny blonde chick with blue skin.
Director David Livingston has a long Trek history. He directed episodes of TNG, DS9, VOY, as well as several ENT eps. Also did a season of Sliders.
