This isn’t a real episode, but just pretend it was, since there isn’t a new one for this week
Wow! Enterprise has really improved this week, with an arc related story that had some character development. It was good seeing some action finally as the MACOs stormed that Nausicaan freighter to rescue the Xindi spy. And that one MACO who was killed trying to save his friend who got injured stupidly was haunting, as the injured guy has to live with the fact his friend is dead because of his actions. Archer had some good lines as he confronted the spy on recent Xindi operations in the area, and the spy knew that the Tholians were involved in the temporal cold war, and factor into who is telling the Xindi what happens in the future. Trip did a good job confronting his demons with Reed’s help, and T’Pol and Phlox has some good interactions discussing Nausicaan/Vulcan anatomical simularities. And Mayweather actually spoke!! How cool is that. It looks like next week they go back to the Degra storyline, so it might be a return to their mediocracy, but it is nice to know that there is one decent episode this year!
(Also Naked Hoshi++)
I’m surprised the Canadian Dopers didn’t start this thread before me!
Best Lines:
Archer: For every answer you fail to tell me, I shoot off a finger!
Xindi Spy: You cannot escape the wrath of the Xindi council no more than your dog can escape his tail!
Was there any reason Trip went EVA other than to have him “decontaminate”? Not that equal opportunity Panda isn’t a good thing, but why was he stuck in decon alone so long? I was making a sandwich and didn’t see the set-up.
I was hugely impressed that I wasn’t able to predict the end of the episode after the first five minutes. The plot was really intricate, well-thought-out, and quite satisfying, without resorting to cliches. I don’t want to spoil the details; this is one episode you really need to see play out for yourself.
(The one thing I’m not sure about was switching the conciousnesses of Travis and Porthos. I wasn’t clear on exactly what happened when they did it, and I didn’t really notice a difference until the end when they “fixed” it. Otherwise, kickass.)
Also, was Hoshi being naked in the medical bay really that necessary? I mean, she was just lying there the whole time T’Pol and Phlox were talking. Maybe if she walked around a bit or stretched a bit.
It should be noted, for future reference, that the pop-up boxes when you hover over a thread in the main forum index do not respect spoiler boxes. Thus the first line of your post, which you tried to spoiler, was visible to anyone who did a mini-preview of this thread.
Well I do that all the time…
Also, i just wasted 2 1/2 hours at the DMV for them to tell me my birth certificate wasn’t good enough. So i now have to get a different birth certificate. Good thing my license expires tomorrow! Now i have to take the driven test, too!
Having T’Pol in a StarFleet uniform was a nice touch, since she’s officially a part of it now. Not to worry 'bout Panda, either.
I loved that scene where she was lying down on her belly with only that little towell covering the bottom 2/3rds of her bottom (and any fanny she might be shaving). Then, when she spread her legs and looked back over her shoulder, telling Tripp that the best position for P’Ling Ting was for him to kneel between her legs, WOW! I swear I saw Tripp readjust himself because of his erection. They might as well give her a g-string and nipple pasties and just have at it, what with how much of her they’re showing.
I know some of youse don’t care much for her, but I like that bod, buddy!
Oh yeah, the script. What surprised me was that the problem didn’t really have a resolution. It’s just something they’ll have to deal with. The extremly polarised opposite reactions of certain crew members was very believable.
Receiving news of the Romulan Wars having started was a nice homage to canon.
ahem Wow, NCB, I needed a cigarette after that! Hmm, my episode focused much more on Phlox in the med lab and included views of his personal quarters …
So glad to hear from Mayweather! And did you know that the Nausicaan’s made the best sausages?! (If there is anyone out there who gets that one, please feel free to contact me! LOL)
On the next Enterprise, we see Hoshi and T’Pol working on a Xindi Sloth in the latest attempt to sabotage the Xindi WMD.
tarragon, whatcha doing up so late?
That reminds me…I need to order something to put in the mail. I agree that the postal service must have it in for you, since all my other packages get where they’re going.
Well, speaking of late, I won’t be up much longer. “I’M GONNA TAKE A TYLENOL! AND THEN I’M GONNA TAKE A DRINK OF WATER! AND THEN MAYBE I’LL TAKE ANOTHER TYLENOL! AND ANOTHER DRINK OF WATER! AND THEN I’LL TAKE TO MY BED! YEEEEAAAAAAGHHH!!!”
That Nausicaan warship was obviously a kitbash… I mean, c’mon! It had Federation warp nacelles, a Klingon *K’tinga * class engineering section, and the friggin’ prow of a Ferengi D’Kora class! I mean, really… who did they think they were fooling?
Other than that, I agree with everyone else that the episode was stellar. It easily beats out The City on the Edge of Forever, The Inner Light, The Visitor, and *Year of Hell * combined. I even cried a bit at the end.
How could Berman and Braga possibly think of cancelling this show?
By the way, when did NBC start airing Enterprise? I was shocked to see it on but delighted I could watch it at the same time as everyone else for once.
