They named this series wrong, I think. Should have been called:
Star Trek: Time Wars
Season 4 – Archer and Co. battle Xindi Reptile Nazis in a fight for Earth’s future.
Season 5 – After destroying Hitler but getting sent back in time, Archer and Co. attempt to stop the Xindi Reptiles as they attempt to stop the extinction of the dinosaurs to prevent mammals from taking over the world.
So is the implication that Archer is now back in Nazi Germany in the 1940s? Or that Nazi Germany WON and it is now the present (22nd century) time and the Nazis still rule, and we’re still no more technologically advanced than in the 1940s?
If we’re IN the 1940s, then why the crapola did the Enterprise go back in time, too?
Wow… well, first I’m in agreement with CP & Mrs. Plant–chop off the last 5-10 minutes of that show. At least in agreement with that part–I don’t want that to be the end of Enterprise the show, though.
Does anyone know what the Spherebuilders were doing when they finally conked the sphere? There were three of them and they each had their hands in something on the Enterprise (I think it was on Enterprise, that is). I don’t know what to think about where this is going to pick up in the fall, but my first (very first) thoughts are that somehow those spherebuilders went back in time and really screwed with the timeline of Earth. No idea where that white reptilian came from - to me, he didn’t appear to be of the Xindi variety. Definitely reptilian though shudders God, I could have done without the mouse cocktails, thank you very much!!! But somehow, Earth’s timeline/history/whatever has gotten totally fried. I know, it’s -all- the fault of Daniels … yeah… he’s the one. Farging Nazis, though, geeze!
Thank you for the scene with Porthos and T’Pol–that was sweet. And Phlox, of course, is divine.
I think I will go back to reading the ST novels, especially the DS9 re-launch.
It had me until the last five minutes. Also, if they’re still in the 22nd century, why are they still in the same uniforms and use the same planes etc. they used in 1940’s.
They were mixing tuna and mayonaisse with their bare hands.
Saw it done before my wedding. Grossest thing I ever saw in my life.
Strictly Kosher, of course.
Presumably the trans dimensional beings who spoke of “time lines” did something to screw things up time wise.
I hate it that these fools idea of plot is time travel.
Monstre has a point.
Bjo Trimble must have felt like this after she saved Star Trek and the made Spock’s Brain.
BTW, Archer, the remote detonator and reptile pate’ was kind of cool.
We may not have a whole lot to fret over with this cliffhanger. One of my many Trek sources (Trek Today?) mentioned that there would be multiple mini arcs of three to five shows next season, with one being set up by this Season III finale.
So, at worst, we’ll have five eps of Albino Xindi NAZI.
What’s the antonym of “cliffhanger”? “Ditchsitter”?
That’s what that episode was. I hope they put off the next season for a while.
These guys really suck.
Honestly, what the fuck was that?
It was a perfectly good episode minus the last 5 minutes.
I loved the Andorians showing up, I expected it, but I loved it.
My other favorite part was Archer straping a bomb to Reptileman. That was badass. Cannon to kill a fly indeed.
Still, Nazis?!?!? Albino Reptile!?
If history did get changed so the 22nd century is now Nazi loaded, Enterprise should not have existed. This ending pissed me right off. There had better be a very good explanation at the end.
I guess for those who dislike the shows writing so much, could just you know…Stop Watching It. If it causes so much anger, getting away from it is the first step towards recouperation.
Anyways, I liked it, it made me almost crap my pants, which isn’t as nasty as it sounds. The last bunch of episodes have had me squirming with anticipation everytime the last 5 minutes come up, whether or not they are logical or not.
If you guys want to watch some thing logical, watch the next presidential vote.
I don’t think the Nazi Alien is reptilian. He didn’t look it, especially with the red eyes.
But that fact that the Nazi’s were comfortable with the alien seems to indicate that it’s the 22nd century somehow. Because it wouldn’t make much sense if it were 1940 and there were aliens buzzing around. Plus, the fact that degra’s ship and Enterprise couldn’t communicate at the end seems to indicate something, though not sure what- especially since they didn’t say anything about their communications not working (so it wouldn’t spoil the teaser at the end). But it must have to do with it.
I’m not so sure it was just the last five minutes. I thought something was wrong from the very point that they turned up at Earth. Remember, although the Space Station was there albeit very temporarily, other than that there was no sign of activity at or around Earth. Think about it, everybody knows the Great Super Ball of Destruction is coming, yet no guard, no last ditch defense, no blockade (remember they sent details to Earth after Proving Ground), no hails, no nothing. What did everyone on Earth decide collectively to kiss their asses goodbye? Where were the platforms, ships coming and going? Granted I wasn’t expecting Star Trek the Movie kind of activity but other than the Station nothing at all? Was it just me that noticed?
As with many people here, I kept thinkin WTF was with that end part.
I was kind of impressed with the thought that the killed archer off. I like him, but’s it’s so gutsey that I respect a show which kills off their main character, unexpectadly.
Unfortunatly, they screwed it all up by making him mysteriously survive.
I kind of saw the ending coming, the minute they said they couldn’t get any signals from starfleet. I figured the timeline got screwed up somewhere, or they had gone back in time. I was slightly suprised when the planes that attacked the shuttles were of the WW2 variety as I expected them to be F-15’s or something like that. I knew they weren’t gonna be starfleet.
The Nazi Reptile thing(He doesn’t look like a Xindi to me) is an interesting twist, but I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. This could be really, really good, or really, really bad depending on how they do this. Somehow, I’m expecting the latter, but I’m willing to tune in for the season premere to see where they go with this.
Thought: If the Enterprise went back in time, did the Xindi ships do so as well?(I’m betting it’s going to be one of those, because it makes no sense for a 22nd earth with a changed timeline to be perpetually stuck at 1940’s tech level). Also, I can’t see WW2 waging that far into the future.
No, the big thing that bugged me was killing archer and then bringing him back.
