Enterprise: Zero Hour spoilers.

I always want to come up with something eloquent to say, and Cervaise always tops me. Writing the review seems somewhat pointless considering the train wreck Bergama have made of the series. I saw the article about Braga stepping back and I hope Coto is in charge, but then I am so sad for him having to continue from such a bad finale.

I liked Blalok’s acting for T’Pol. I felt she acted the stress and the emotions well. I even liked her repeating Trip’s line “maybe Vulcans aren’t as tough” and Phlox’s “wish for the best.” I felt that Mayweather and even Hoshi were still cheated of having airtime and character development.

I didn’t like Archer’s scene’s with Hoshi. He should have helped her by being the stern captain to see if that would focus her thoughts on the job at hand. Then, seeing that wasn’t working he should have taken a more fatherly approach. He should have reminded her that when he saw her in Brazil she was a brilliant academic and now she has grown into a mature confident woman capable of meeting these hardships and that she is needed. Archer is always made too distant from being human. Like a captain must be above all of these human emotions when those emotions are what make us worthwhile.

Even though the scene at the signing of the Federation Charter was cheesy, I still got a bit of a thrill (fanitis I guess). I saw the Emblem on the wall over the rampway door and smiled. I just didn’t understand why the stadium was perched on top of a starship saucer section :). And I didn’t see accommodations for non-humanoid and especially aquatic species.

[ul][li]The Reptilians called the Avians their “brothers” so I guess the Avians would have been just as nasty had they lived.[]Were those Xindi-mice? They sure looked like mice from Earth. Couldn’t even post-production a red, blue, or other color to make them look alien? :([]I wonder if Archer had considered a kamikaze action with Degra’s ship, and if he did, did he tell the Primate and Arboreal Xindi?[]Archer, “Do you had a PADD?” Xindi, “No, we have starships, vortices, and can destroy a planet, but we don’t have portable computers.” :([]Does it seem odd to you too that the Trannie’s talk of “interference and reduction in the favorable timelines” in the present tense.[]Because Archer and Reed are away, T’Pol get’s Phlox’s science advice on Anomaly physics and lets him come to the bridge. It’s okay, but he wasn’t included that way previously.[]The Reptilians say they need time since they only have 3 codes (to activate the Weapon) vs. 5 codes. What do they need to do with this extra time. Especially since they were ready when the Weapon exited the vortex.[]I takes just 7 years to sign the Federation charter. I don’t think diplomatic negotiations to form a Federation can happen in 7 years. :([]Phlox dictates his will, but does he really expect that they can send it in time; from this deep in the Expanse; just before a potential suicide mission? :([]I’ve always hated it when the helm calls and says “Approaching coordinates” and the (acting-)captain says “Take us out of warp.” They should be sure of where they are before giving that order :wally[]So being in a heavy Anolmaly region turns everone sepia? For awhile?[]When the Reptilian commander orders the view of Earth to be enlarged, I would expect more than a softball size image! And where’s the moon?[]I wish the Reptilian had called the unarmed orbital space station “prey”. Oh, and did you hear that cute “boom” in space when it exploded? :([]I should have seen Shran showing up, but it’s still cheesy (love the antenna though!)[]memo to Phox: When you know something like the frequency to disrupt the Trannie’s, REPORT IT TO THE CAPTAIN. Archer and Reed might have needed it! The MAACOs would like to know beforehand! :wally:mad:[]Archer inverting rods that then change color. Ha![]So now we know, the Sphere gravity goes all the way down :([]A bit of Luke Skywalker with Archer hanging off the railing.[]I LOVED that spin the Reptilian gave Archer. :D[]Archer takes four grenades. It’s important to use one to stop the little rotating ball? And while I LOVEd using one to take out the Reptilian (hehe), it was extravagant since he was there to blow up the Sphere. Then again he couldn’t do that if the Reptilian killed him.[]I like the “old oil painting” speech.[/ul][/li]Now for the bad part!
Alien Nazis on Earth in the past. Where is the vomit smilie when you need it! I do not envy Coto this next season. I believe he can put character development in and I look forward to it, but it’s all like the old joke: A man enters hell. He can choose the room of eternal fire, eternal ice, or the room where everyone is drinking coffee and reading the newspaper while standing knee-deep in shit. He chooses the later. Then he hears, “Okay, break’s over, back on your head!”

I can only think that the premise is: The Trannie’s had hidden Reptilians in the past to create a bioweapon. Since Archer-et-al defeated them in the 22nd century, the Trannie’s sent (or allied with) a race back to the 1940s to help destroy humanity by changing humanity. Daniels helped combat this by sending everyone back as well. The Aquatics dropped off Enterprise so I assume they shifted back in time after that point.

I suspect the plotlines shifted to this dreck for only one reason. Money. I’ve heard that Enterprise is very expensive. Shifting them to Earth and an historic setting means they can minimize special effects and (I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope) concentrate on character development, suspense, and intrigue. {Yes, I’m an optimist. Why do you ask?} The BBC loves historical dramas because they have all the locales, props, and wardrobe. It’s cheaper to make an historical drama. The 3rd season of Dr. Who had the Doctor stranded on Earth because the show was cutting it’s budget and they wouldn’t have to make as much in the way of alien sets. So I think Braga is proud of this dreck and has stuck Coto with an almost impossible task! :frowning:

Naw, it’s artistic temperment that things time travel is cool.

WTF is Coto, a Zombie Penguin? Have Penguins replaced Pandas? How about Skunks, they are also black and white. Opens up more jokes, like “Is my suit on backwards?”

You can tell if he has a white streak down his back and shit comes out of his mouth. Sounds like a description of Braga.

iamme (but in Latin, Jaimme is spelled with an I), look again. Reed goes in to three pockets. Two charges in first one, two charges in second, detonater in chest pocket. So, Quantum had 'slposives to spare.
Tyranasaurs in F-16s!

I looked. He handed him 2 things and the detonator. Now if those 2 were actually 4, then that would explain where the 3rd came from I guess.

Go back and re read what I posted as the last thing on page one.

I think between the two theories, we’re on to something here.

I’ll tell you whut!

Even if time-travel episodes really do rate higher and this is the logic - did they have to pick one that will inevitably turn out to be so desperately bad?

Now, the Vichy France simulation with the Hunters (was that their name?) in Voyager was kinda interesting.
This, I suspect, will simply be annoying.

Heh. Thanks. Comes from the heart.

And y’know what? Fuck this show. Minus the testicle-stabbing stupidity of the last two minutes, I would have been there for season four, even though the resolution of the Xindi weapon arc was pretty much by the numbers and not as cool as the last few episodes that got us there. Until that ridiculous twist, I was willing to forgive a mediocre wrapup on the strength of the show’s trend and tune in for season four.

But now: fuck this show. Fuck it right in the anal manifold with Shran’s big blue dingus.

Enjoy next season. I won’t be there.

Nah, he’d just mail it back with a form letter advising you to submit it through a reputable agent.

How…?

Don’t bugs have ovipositors or something?

Of course! {snaps fingers} When Daniels leaped Archer he shocked him. Now Archer can see the Lectroids From Planet 10 who actually did infiltrate the Nazis during WWII. It’s as I’ve suspected all along! It all makes sense now!

Couldn’t have worded it better myself. Just what this series needs: MORE TIME TRAVEL! This whole Trek/Quantum Leap mishmash is getting out of hand.

I did laugh, though, as Archer was switching out those multicolored flourescent lights. Very high tech!

I don’t think the Alien Nazi was a Xindi. Looked more like something out of Buffy.

Hirogen. The Hunters were a Gamma Quadrant species from Season 1 of DS9.

Kn*ckers hasn’t been around for a year or so after quitting her job, **Tars ** didn’t pay to subscribe, **Linus ** is AWOL, and now **Cervaise ** is no longer posting with us. Our little group is becoming even littler.

Shaka. When the walls fell.

Zinda, his face black, his eyes red.

I don’t see a way for this to have happened at all. The problem is when they could have done it. They don’t have control over the past, only the possible/probable future by being able to see into it. By the time they knew the weapon was going to fail and the spheres be destroyed they wouldn’t be able to recruit more evil Xindi(remember the insects hate them now too) to send back. I guess they could have planned ahead and Nazi-fied Earth anyway, but if that option was available to them why didn’t they do it to begin with? And why the hell would San Francisco look exactly the same if there had been 200+ years of Nazi rule? Bah.

Enjoy,
Steven

Hey, don’t call 'em Trannies – they were born that way!

But seriously, folks, the English language just doesn’t have the verb tenses necessary for time travel. (Douglas Adams’ efforts in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe notwithstanding.) When the spherebuilding time-travel chicks say “the time lines are converging”, they’re really talking about the existing set of causality whoop-dee-doos or something.

The only time travel I like is when they go into the future!

I also wish they would stop going backwards in time with these prequel series like Star Trek & Star Wars.

What am I missing here? The P-51s had US insignia from the later part of WWII.

Did the ugly guy with the Nazis look like a Cro Mag from Sliders?

Anyone notice that the German subtitles were different font than the Xindi subtitles? And anyone speak German? How were their accents?
