Entertain me with video... (youtube, etc)

Get out of my bed

The Simon’s Cat videos are fantatstic.

Yeah, I like cats.

This is a godsend! Also, I have to report the weirdest thing. I had recently read somewhere here that someone recommended the Facebook episode of South Park. So when I went to the site I considered trying to search for it, but decided that was too much effort for the moment so I just clicked “watch a random episode”

Guess what episode it was.

Yup.

A few more:
Stairway to Gilligan’s Island
A Day in the Life of Green Acres
Beware of the Doghouse
Apple Time Capsule (made 1987, and we know what actually happened in the nineties)
The Engineer’s Guide to Cats
Superfluid liquid helium

That’s funny. I never watch YouTube- my computer has no sound and it’s usually too much bother to find someone willing to lend me theirs- but I was convinced to watch one a few hours ago. I’m still laughing at it. It’s political, so you might not want to see it. But it’s a funny coincidence.

This requires a bit of set-up.

There’s this community of people on youtube called Let’s Players. What they do is play a video game and film it, while running commentary. Ideally, they’re supposed to be a cross between walkthrough and stand-up commentary. Practically…well, it’s about what you’d expect from a bunch of guys filming themselves playing video games. Anyway, a couple of other dudes decided to film the bad LPs and make mocking commentary, in an MST style. And those are funny, sometimes, although sometimes they’re just as boring as the source material.

But this one had me falling out of my chair.

Here’s something I hope you really like…

Enjoy!

I think I have posted this before, but it’s still a great watch -Torn by Natalie Imbruglia , with sign languages (with a twist).

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain plays The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Sir Ian McKellan explains how to change a tire (Best part starts at 1 minute 53 seconds but the rest is amusing too.)

Deals Gap, that road is a blast. If you go on the right day, Killboy (or one of his many copycats) will take your picture, and then a week or so later you can find it on his site.

If you like that, then how about a terrifying hot lap around the Nurburgring in a ZR-1?

It’s not video, but it might pass the time. Try jigzone.com - it’s an online jigsaw puzzle, with hundreds of images, and dozens of different patterns or cuts of pieces, from about 6 pieces that your dog could put together, to (I think) about 250 pieces, that’ll take easily 30 minutes. That’s GOTTA be a better way to pass the time than watching reruns of The Brady Bunch, isn’t it?

Funniest dancing bird ever!

Cool! I’m signed up for the daily email.

That is awesome - how did I never hear of this before?

Creepy Russian guy singing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kk4gmceySE (The guy shows up 15 or 20 seconds in, so wait through the bad music.)

I think you saw this one when I posted it several weeks ago, but it’s worth another look. A trip down Market Street in San Francisco, 1905: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NINOxRxze9k

In a Ford Transit it’s pretty scary too, you know.

The ZR-1 is an amazing car. As soon as I win the lottery, I mean literally right after the money is in my hands, that’s my first purchase. Then I’ll pay off my mortgage, invest, etcetera. I want to drive that thing.

Take a cable car ride to a place you’re likely never to go, the Aiguilles du Midi. Vertigo will ensue!

If you like that ZR-1 video, check out this driving performance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs-jAImScms
