Entourage on a Mac and webmail question

I am not verty Mac savvy so thought I’d ask here.

I have a friend who is using Entourage on a Mac to get her e-mail from work. Their e-mail is hosted off site with their ISP.

Here’s the thing:

The e-mail server is telling her she is over her quota. When I log in via the web to see her mail (with her looking over my shoulder…all on the up-and-up) it shows her as having used 90% or more of her allotted space yet it shows NO e-mail in her in box or sent folder or trash. It all looks blank.

When she tries to delete mail in Entourage she gets arrows that say previous and next but are not clickable and she seemingly cannot delete mail.

I know this is all a bit vague and unfortunately I have not sat in front of her Mac to see the problems for myself but any direction would be good.

My guess is that with some mail clients there is a selection to remove e-mail from the server after download and for some reason her mail client is leaving it out there but still wierd she cannot see any mail at all when logging directly in to the ISP mail server.

At a loss here…

Assuming Entourage is set to delete mail from the server after it retrieves messages, and that you can’t see anything when logging in directly, the next course of action will probably require contacting the ISP and asking them to identify where the files are.

Perhaps there’s something like an ftp directory on her account that’s been filled up with email attachements?

What happens if she uses Mac Mail? (Is there really any reason she needs to use Entourage?)
