Epimetheus, could you step in here a moment, you jackass.

Well, to be fair, the Pharmacy student tech, not the mention two of the Pharmacists and three other students, CURRENTLY enrolled in physiology classes did not know the answer to this. I asked. One Pharmacist, who just had her baby, told me the doctor mentioned this “splitting” could happen, but does not always happen.

So I was wrong. Are you seriously pitting me because I came off as arrogant (which I was being, so it is fair) or because I was wrong?

I don’t know how I missed that information in my own links. Oh well, I have no issue admitting I am wrong. I also have no problem appologizing and asking for forgiveness for acting like an ass.

I won’t, however, appologize for my statements about people that are too lazy to exercise or eat properly. Sure, we all make mistakes, and some have to live with bad things now because of choices made when they were younger. Some never made any choice. However, willfull laziness mixed with a holier than thou attitude towards fitness is something I get snippy with. The whole “eat right, exercise and die anyhow” attitude is annoying, especially when it is used to somehow make the unhealthy lifestyle ok.

But I was an ass, I am sorry. (about the abdominal thread)

How does someone else’s being fat effect you in any way?

You can be healthy all you want. I’m always going to have higher cholesterol no matter how well I eat. I’m always going to have trouble losing weight because of imbalances in my body. It’s genetic.

You’re acting like some sort of proselytizing religious fanatic. If I want to drink, smoke, carouse and die at 50, that’s my right.

Just butt out.

I don’t have a problem with your weight. If you say crap about people that want to be healthy, and make up crap about how it is OK to be unhealthy and rub it in my face, I have a problem. You have not said anything like that, so I don’t have an issue with you. It is as simple as that.

See how outraged you are when somebody mentions your lifestyle? Do you think I am any different? Don’t mention my lifestyle negatively and I won’t mention yours.

You’re right, that’s not an apology. I had hoped you typed in haste or didn’t mean what you wrote, but I guess you did.

I’m curious, however - what mistakes did I make to become diabetic? I quoted the pertinent portion up above, so there’s no ambiguity. You spoke directly about “smug” diabetics in the grave, as if we had a choice to be diabetic. What choice did I have, exactly? How could I have changed my lifestyle to not be a Type 1 diabetic?

Yes, that was probably an oversight. There are people that become diabetic because of bad diets, but it probably has genetic factors, because not everybody that eats badly becomes diabetic. That is why in my post above I mention that some people didn’t have a choice.

The reason I put that in my post in the other thread was because exercise, weight lifting in particular, decreases cell insulin resistance. Watching diet and constant exercise with a weight lifting routine can in many cases reverse diabetes. Or prevent it all together. Ok, not perfect logic, but neither is the post that instigated my response.

I’m a type 1 diabetic. My pancreas does not produce insulin. At all. No amount of diet or exercise will change that simple fact.

I became type 1 at the ripe old age of 22.

Admit it, spooje, you’ve got a goddamn lazy pancreas, and I predict that pancreas will come to a bad end if it doesn’t get off its butt and start working.

Yes, thats unfortunate, and I said in my last fucking post that there are people that cannot help it. There are people born without legs too, but I am not going chide them for not being able to run.

I also did not say, nor suggest that exercise will cure type 1 diabetes either. Sounds like somebody is dense or fishing.

Of course I’m pitting you because you were arrogant.

I was going to post a bunch of links to quotes of you being arrogant, but I guess you get it.

I could care less if you’re wrong. I’ve been wrong about stuff on these boards lots of times - I think most people have. It’s not a lack of knowledge that deserves ridicule - it’s the complete and total lack of respect for other peoples knowledge.

Anyhow - appology accepted.

As an aside, I do feel it’s necessary to point out that Type 1 diabetes cannot be controled by diet and exercise. Ever. Under any circumstances. Trust me here.

Ok, I appologized and admited I am wrong, but I will call you on this, something you are seemingly not wanting to point out: Two of my sites don’t say that it is two muscles.

That is the entirety of the post: No mention of two muscles, and as pointed out in the thread, a strong suggestion of a singular muscle. Ok, perhaps they are wrong, right?

From here: Agentes Secretos Pelicula Completa En Español

No mention of two muscles here: Odd, you said every one of my sites mentioned these.

Since you are going to point out willfull ignorance, I might as well point out hypocricy. Can you explain these, or are you not even interested in why?

In the other thread, or just in general?

Wow, you head all those departments?

Oh, just for the record, I am not retaking my position of being right. So much on this board gets ignored or taken out of context. I am just questioning your statement and at the same time making an offhand inquiry of why those two sites make no mention of the two muscles. I will still admit I was wrong.

You know, I don’t think I’ve ever run across such a person. Sure, I know some folks who are overweight, but no one who is “holier than thou” about it. Where are meeting these folks? (It seems, from your post, that you have met quite a number of them)

One last question, sorry to be a boor: Are you actually the head of the smooth muscle research department there at UC, and do you get to participate in the research? (I do feel rather silly for arguing anatomy with somebody of your credentials, but what can a guy do?)

In the thread mentioned above, by Mr. Moto: “Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital dying of nothingl”

No, I work in all of them. Among other things, I do drawings of cell systems, functions, drug reactions, anatomy, etc. etc.

Also, regarding your previous post - bite me. If I looked hard enough, I could probably find one or two people that would say you’re a smart, handsome guy. That doesn’t make it true.

Yes, it may surprise you, but I am actually a pretty outgoing person. I see people at the gym and talk to them, I see people at school and talk to them, I see people in the pharmacy, and talk to them. I talk to a lot of people. Many of them notice that I work out, and quite a few of said comments are derrogetory. Mostly by the smokers mind you, much more than by the overweight people. My roommate is one example, though, of the overweight person that is holier than thou about it. His comments are constant. I don’t mean to come off as a martyr, because there are worse things to have bad things said to you, but this board teems with people that like to pile on at the slightest mention of “overweight.” So on this board I tend to be a bit more tense and ready to defend my lifestyle. I am sure other people in similar situations (alternative lifestyles, other ethniticities, etc), feel the same way, ready and willing to jump to defense. It is probably knee-jerk, but it is reflex I tell ya!

Intelligence and wit! I AM a stupid cad.

Indeed.
