A year or so ago in an issue of TV guide there was an interview with Jerry Orbach from law & order.
He was talking about how the people in new york don’t make a big deal out of the film crews and are very relaxed.

He said that they were filming one scene on the street, him and his partner had their guns drawn and a member of the public just walked right in front of them like nothing happened. They 2 actors looked at each other and just carried on.
He said that that take is the one they used.

Does anyone know which episode this is?

I think it might be the one where in the beginning some people come across a dead body. The police investigate and come across the murderer and draw a gun on him. That might be the scene you saw?
