Not really what I meant. I think he was killed. But not because of HIS guilt/pedophilia. Others did not want that information to get out.
What I was trying to say is that there was more than a little Jay Gatsby in Epstein. He wasn’t a manipulator or a pimp - he was a hanger-on, a deluded wannabe who thought that rubbing elbows with the beautiful people would make him one of them.
That’s Trump too. He’s a laughingstock. He so wanted to be on the ‘in’ crowd.
The difference is that like it or not, Trump has actual power. All Epstein had was connections.

I tried a few AI’s asking for historical figures similar to Epstein. This is not because AI has a clue, but to generate ideas.
One idea is Giacomo Casanova.
Another is Bernie Madoff. This of course makes the most sense if Epstein can be seen primarily as someone who got prominent people to pay ridiculous sums for financial advice, with most of his associates not involved in sex crimes.
My current hypothesis, regarding there being a historical model for Epstein, is that no two humans are the same, and he’s a good example of it.

I wish the federal government had the decorum and integrity of “DinoCon”.
DinoCon is engaging in guilt by association. I’m against it.
Even worse is their secondary guilt by association:“executive committee members of organizations that are not issuing public bans to these individuals are also banned from these events.”
Taking the secondary guilt by association literally, if the Catholic church doesn’t excommunicate every Catholic in the Epstein files, all executive committee Catholics are banned from paleontology events. I suppose the most charitable interpretation is that they didn’t think this through.
As for the government punishing people for guilt by association, I prefer due process of law.

That is ridiculous overkill. Some of those just went on Epstein’s Jet as part of a trip to Africa for the Clinton Foundation- 24 years ago. But now, not only those people but anyone who associated with those innocents are now blacklisted. Shades of the anti-commie Hollywood blacklist hysteria.
And all he did was travel to Epsteins ranch in Arizona to try and get a donation- which he did. For that he is blacklisted and so is anyone not openly banning him.

The statement from DinoCon says it only applies to people who were associated with Epstein after he was convicted for child prostitution in 2008. Someone who “went on Epstein’s Jet as part of a trip to Africa for the Clinton Foundation- 24 years ago” would not be included.
