Epstein & Hillary

Christie ain’t quite scandal-free.

He’s going by the John Winger standard.

“Have you ever been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor? That’s robbery, rape, car theft, that sort of thing.”
“Convicted? No.”

He wasn’t directly connected to Bridgegate and there isn’t a pattern of behavior. Christie hasn’t gone on TV several times with the “I didn’t know” defense, unlike some leaders we won’t mention.

No, it’s okay. You can mention Reagan.

And Jindal’s approval rating is somewhere in the mid-30s.

God, I hope he’s the Republican nominee. Let’s just relive his six minutes in the national spotlight and what everyone thought of his performance.

Because fitness for the Presidency is all about speeches.

No, eligibility for the presidency is all about speeches.

No, it’s not. It’s only in the Obama era that this suddenly went from fairly important to crucial in the eyes of some. Mainly Obama supporters. As GWB showed, a President doesn’t even have to have a grade school level grasp of grammar, and Jindal vastly exceeds that threshold.

I know it’s superficial, but Jindal looks like a boy who put on his dad’s suit. It’s impossible to take him seriously.

No, GWB didn’t prove anything about what would make a good president.

And if you think the ability to confidently and consistently be able to use speech as a persuasive tool isn’t something that is required in a competent leader, then I can only hope you are on the selection committee for the Pubbies.

Arguably, Bush was better at persuasion than Obama has been. He got his way more often not just with Congress, but also at the UN.

Yeah, it’s called “lying one’s ass off.”

Because Obama and Clinton would never resort to falsehoods to sell their policies. LOL.

Bush lied and hundreds of thousands died, lol.

I’m probably going to show massive ignorance of US Congressional history here, but wasn’t there there a Republican majority Congress during their respective presidencies and wouldn’t that kinda make it just a tad harder for a Democrat to get stuff through than a Republican?

Republicans controlled the House 6 out of 8 years under Bush. They controlled the Senate 4.5 years.

Democrats controlled the House 2 years out of 8 under Obama. They controlled the Senate 6 years.

I didn’t realize that 1960 was part of the “Obama era”.

Did Congressional Democrats meet on Inauguration Day 2001 and vow to block every single thing Bush would try to do? Didn’t think so.

Obama should have talked them out of it.

Ignored the comment about approval ratings in the mid-30s, eh?

Jindal can run… but would he win the primary in his own state?

ETA: I also love how “making speeches” was viewed by Republicans as a really great thing when Reagan was in office, then it turned into an overblown non-issue when Bush II was in office, now making speeches is a BAD BAD BAD thing with Obama in the Oval Office. Telepromter - hurr hurr!
