I was just struck by how much Linda Cardellini is starting to look like a Wendy Pini drawn Elfquest elf. Big eyes, high checkbones, tiny mouth. If they ever cast an Elfquest movie, I want her to play Nightfall .
The old Alex was played by Oliver Davis. The new one by Dominic Janes.
Eh, Pratt had his asshole period early on and went thru the very predictable character arc ER constantly uses. Smart cute cocky young doctor thinks his shit doesn’t stink, lots of asshole moments so we can learn to hate him, then the humanizing part where we see the particular difficult circumstances that’ve contributed to his assholishness and a few humbling deaths or near-misses, voila a better doctor with a well-rounded character. So Pratt acting like an ass isn’t new at all, more of a re-visit but we’re okay with that because we know he’s more beneath the surface, eh? ( cue eyerolling)
Sam, OTOH, has always been a competent nurse but a complete mess of a person, she’s a horrific parent and a total head-case when it comes to her personal life.
I’m just glad they got a different actor to play the kid, even though I can’t stand Sam or her son.
That other actor-kid was all over my nerves.
The kid is a live-action version of the screamapiller, the creature so unsuited for existence that God clearly wants it to die.
I was hoping the guy with the rifle would shoot Sam and put me out of me misery.
Seriously, there’s not a single character on this show any longer who I care one whit about, and I’ve watched it from the beginning.
I just took off the season pass on my Tivo. This show sucks. ER, you’re dead to me.

I hated the Sam/Alex/Luka crap so badly that I started watching the scenery.
WTF? Sam hits an antelope in Nebraska, quite some distance west of Grand Island . . . Where the hell did they find the lovely tree-lined highway to the west? Populated with antelope?
Yes, speed-goats are suicidal little bastards that fling themselves in front of random moving vehicles, but geez . . . Antelopes like gawdforsaken sagebrush infested, open, flat, boring country. And if Western Nebraska has any trees at all, they were deliberately planted in someone’s yard – not along the damn highway.
This episode makes me think the ER production staff no longer cares.
Sam really gets on my nerves !! As for her silly diabetic kid, this new actor seemed a little too blah to portray the character as he used to be - hyperactive, uncaring about consequences of his actions, yet really smart, and made you want to smack him upside the head. I also want to smack Sam upside the head - what is she thinking, dumping Luka like that? (I also wondered about the fact that it was HIS car she wrecked, and he probably funded the trip, all things considered. Would it have been so difficult for her to stop being incredibly selfish for more than one minute and talk to Luka like a normal person?)
Back on the hospital side, I agree with this:
There is no one I hate more than Morris. Especially when he came back after napping the night away and got mad at Neala. grrrrr!
Didn’t they do the fake doctor thing with the lead actor from Revenge of the Nerds playing Dr. Green’s college buddy?
They should have gone back to remove the deer from the road, only to discover that it was Original Alex. Then Sam has to face the reality that Alex is now played by someone else, and she didn’t even notice.
Anyway, I’m officially through watching ER, and have started watching Lost.
