Erfworld: Book 2 discussion (spoilers)

Not only that, but IIRC, she’s a Fox Forcer. Which means that she has all sorts of juicy intel on Charlie, his plans, and preparations. In fact, I seem to recall some of the other archons saying that that particular one getting decrypted would be nearly a worst-case scenario for Charlie.

At the end it looks like one of the Magic Kingdom folks is attacking GK. If that gets going, it’ll be a major snarl.

Yeah, it’s problematic.

Wait, was that just a MK-on-MK attack? Marie isn’t formally allied with GK. I think that Parson needs to get his entire force, plus as many corpses as they can, back through his own portal before the Magic Kingdom becomes a glowing glassy crater.

Didn’t Marie agree to some kind of contract with Wanda? I recall some brief negotiations and a handshake that looked like an official procedure. Granted, things are definitely going pear-shaped and they probably should evac and let the others duke it out.

On another related note, is it true that the uncroaked soldiers can’t pass through the GK portal without disbanding? I thought Parson cheated to permanently get them in the MK by bringing them through as corpses and decrypting them on site. It sounded like Artemis was giving a retreat order, so does she know something I don’t, or is she the one missing critical information?

I don’t think she’s ordering her decrypted troops themselves to retreat; I think she’s ordering them to cover the retreat of Parson and the casters. Losing the decrypted troops in the MK would be a setback for Parson, but losing Parson or Wanda would be Game Over, and losing any other casters would be, while recoverable, still catastrophic.

There’s been some speculation that anyone can leave the MK through any portal. Getting back in as a non-caster is the problematic part.

OTOH, Artemis could be calling for a retreat through the Charlescomm portal, which has apparently been Carny’d to permit non-casters to pass through. Depending on the current size of Gobwin Knob’s treasury, though (there’s been a lot of fluctuation since Parson turned back), that could be a disastrous action for the side.

So how does just popping through a random portal work?

would count as an aggressive act towards the side involved, but they are planning on surrendering. The negotiations for release could then get messy depending on whose portal it is. If it’s a coalition member they may just try and croak the prisoners, even if interested in selling them back, I’m sure Charlie would be bidding also.

Transylvito. Coalition member, but one in need of funds. Should be interesting

Wow, I wonder how long he’s been waiting for those puns.

O.M.G. Even by the usual standards of this webcomic, that one was painful.

So, interesting turns of events, these last few updates. We have an almost-escape, an almost-murder-spree, an attempt to return so that negotiations can be completed, and a capture.

Speaking of bad puns, the title for the previous column was “A moll about that base”. Fiendishly clever.

OK, I thought Wanda just killed Janis but here she is in today’s strip (Page 228). I must have missed something. Explanation?

Wanda rammed the pliers into Janis, but that wasn’t a fatal attack. Pretty clear she survived in this strip

“We try things”.

Wanda tried things. Sometimes they work.

Thanks. I missed that strip somehow.

And now its defunct altogether. I hate it when unfinished stories die.
