Probably, but this plan wasn’t exactly formed or carried out in consultation with Ansom.
Trammenis - not just comic relief.
It looks like Tramennis and Ossomer have a brains-and-brawn thing going.
Am liking the dittomancer.
Am liking the dittomancer.
(… but who is he supposed to be a ref to?)
Elliott the Deadly Duplicator, a copy shop-employed villain in Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law. Voiced by Lewis Black. Pretty damn funny.
Not as easy as Jack described it…
Then again, Wanda didn’t seem to regard it as easy, just doable: “Your bonuses are our only match for Ossomer”, and all. She might have been counting on Jack being able to maintain concentration, though.
I’m wondering if Parson’s awesome tactics are being misapplied by Wanda here. He may have never intended going in Veiled while threatened by enemy archers, but it never came up in the scenarios he played out with Jack.
And, he seemed to have been suggesting actually scouting Spacerock for up-to-date intelligence to Wanda, not capturing the enemy’s Chief Warlord to get it. I’d like to know if he’s back in Efdup saying “She did what?!?” to Maggie and getting berated by the Tool.
… well, I mean, of course he’s getting berated by the Tool. But, you know.
text update
I personally would rather be back with Ansom et al
Since these text updates were recently conceived to give Xin more time for her artwork, and since Rob probably already has the art strip storyline well plotted out, all the alternating text updates will probably be vignettes away from the main action.
I’m hoping we get more Klog-like background material, too, out of them.
next page up
New text update - Sizemore and Janis talk about Parson.
I keep waiting for Janis and Parson to talk to each other. That’d be…interesting.
I don’t think they will, until the end. There’s a reason Parson’s here, and I’m guessing she might be it.
New comic, in which the inevitable happens and Parson is once again vindicated.
I wish panel #2 had been a little clearer so we could tell what was up with Jack.
… wonder if Scarlet will ever get a real name?
Poor Ansom.
Jack may well be dead. But he’ll get better. I wonder how a decrypted Jack’s view of the world would differ from his previous one.
Interesting reaction from Ansom. On the one hand he obviously didn’t want his brother brought over to the Dark Side in the way that he and Wanda have been doing to everyone else; on the other, Ossomer is now on his side, which ought to be a plus for him. I could see Ansom starting to question the morality of their approach from here on out.
Also, Wanda’s response to the last-panel bombshell will probably not be based upon careful consideration or strategic judgment.
I suspect they’re setting up for Ansom to start questioning his Loyalty, but have Ossomer turn out more Loyal than he.
And I don’t think Wanda does anything impulsive, but her gobsmacked expression may what Janis’ predictamancer was talking about.
I guess that leaves Trammenis in charge. I bet hes a lot more Parson-like than Ossomer who seemed like Ansom-lite.
Word. I think a grave tactical error was made in not bringing him along when they fell back from the melee.
My guess is that she’ll want to bring Jillian around to following her (which may or may not ultimately have anything to do with following Stanley’s crusade for Toolism) without using death and decryption. How she might try to do so, and how much she might compromise Gobwin Knob’s position in the process, remains to be seen…
Wherein we learn Jack’s status, more effects of GK being out of favor in the Magic Kingdom, and that Wanda is definitely off her rocker. Damn.
