Actually I was wondering if Sammy might have his own (unwelcoming) response to Jillian proposing to tag along. He already seems a tad resentful about having his actions chosen for him. He might be willing to take actions that subvert the “mission” if it means he can also subvert the coercion he’s being subjected to (even if only symbolically).
Including Sammy’s response to Jillian tagging along. And Charlie shennanigans, of course.
Why throw your units away, again? They’re just going to get de-croaked, and Charlie knows that. Unless this is just a distraction for Jillian to turn Ansom.
Nobody’s getting decroaked from this battle. Corpses go away at end of turn, and Wanda is still at the capital.
Actually, corpses vanish at the start of the next turn (presumably meaning the next turn of whatever side they belonged to in life). So, depending on whether the outcome of the coming battles makes it possible, Wanda may still get a chance at more decryptions.
Welp, maybe she’ll be able to come back next turn and decrypt Sammy.

P.S. What does this do to the dynamics of the battle? That is, are the FAQ troops there prematurely, before Haggar has softened up GK sufficiently? I know Sammy was a warlord rather than a ruler, so his troops won’t disband, but they’ve just lost a substantial leadership bonus, and unless Vanna has something up her sleeve, it’s a little late for them to benefit from Jillian’s mojo.
New Erf – with no intervening text update; sneaky!
It looks like the other side is coming to term with the whole decryption thing. You can see that the Haggar troops are taking away Prince Sammy’s body in one of the panels.

New erf. We have developments!
That was… refreshingly direct.
I like how smug the megalogwiff looks in that last panel.
So, in an office conversation the other day, I realized what megalogwiffs are. They’re microwaved peeps.
Jack seems to have learned a few things…
Jillian heads home, after making a few comments.
Ha! I think Trammenis is well on his way to being as much a queen as Jillian. Zing!
So Jillian’s out to Turn Ansom. Interesting.
I do hope that Captain Ford survives. He sees what needs to be accomplished, sees what steps will best serve that, and assumes leadership to put his plan into action. I’d like to see more of him.
And I don’t think Jillian trying to turn Ansom is any surprise at all.
Yeah, it’s not a surprise that she’d want to, it’s just that Turnamancy has only been featured in the plot recently. We still have to see if it’s possible for a decrypted to be turned.
And would turning him de-decrypt him, or just make him decrypted and on Jillian’s side? I’m guessing the latter.
I’m interested in getting back to the action with Wanda and Jack. I’d like to see her use those pliers on a living unit, just to see what happens.
Anyone else getting sick of Jillian? She is starting to seem like the protagonist and has a “can’t lose” aura about her now. Frankly, she bores me.
Jillian only seems like she has a “can’t lose” aura now, because of the timing of a periodic webcomic makes it seem like she’s been ‘winning’ for quite a while now. In fact, it’s been a very short time in Erfworld – not even a full Turn since she turned the tables on Wanda.
That sort of impression seems to happen all the time to people commenting on Order of the Stick, too. But once collected in book format – or, read straight-through – the timing works out better.
End of Book 1, Jillian was basically crushed and damaged goods, while GK was ready to start dominating Erfworld and seemingly unstoppable. There’ll be another reversal for everyone, soon enough.
