Just as a question, does anybody else not like the new art? The people are somewhat more realistic in terms of build and body shape, I guess, but I just find them harder to look at.
I see your point. Particularly when looking at some of the Jetstone characters (such as Tramennis’s aide-de-camp), it can be quite unappealing. For the most part, the art style is growing on me, but it’s taking a lot longer than I would have expected.
That I didn’t notice it enough to comment on until you brought it up is a testament to how compelling the story is, though.
I’ve been having trouble with the story, but I think that’s just because of speed of updates and because not very much happens in each strip. I always have to stop and ask myself, “Ok, who’s that guy again? Why are they attacking? Oh yeah, that’s that plan they talked about a month ago, three strips back”
I think I need to wait until the book is done and then just read straight through from beginning to end.
When i first found Erf, I had virtually all of Book One to read at once. I agre with what you say here!
I’m not sure that was a good idea… In game-mechanical terms, Parson is low-level, and therefore doesn’t provide much of a Chief Warlord bonus. His real asset isn’t his warlord bonus, but his mind… But he can use that just as well as some random schmuck who has Stanley’s ear as he can as Chief Warlord. And the most recent thing that mind of his came up with was to name someone in Wanda’s group chief, since they need the bonus.
I believe at this point, no amount of bonus is going to save Wanda’s group. Parson, however, might… if he can be persuaded to get engaged with events once again.
Plus, it’s pretty much what Janis suggested that Sizemore arrange.
Maggie has an interesting purse. And I’m wondering what book Stanley was reading from – unit stat lists?
New text update is up

Looking forward to some Parson focus.
And nice to see the return of Wrigley, spearman (the pun, it burnsssss…).
Gah! I knew there was some reason he was named Wrigley; I just didn’t put it together.
The two updates that feature Spearman Wrigley make me feel kind of hopeless and sad.
Oh well. If he could stand it, I suppose I can.
Terrific ending to the issue. And one of the most compelling cliffhangers I’ve ever seen. I usually resent cliffhangers, at least a little. With this one, I just feel like: “What’s Parson gonna have Jack do?” Also: what’s going to come of Jack’s idea? Will Parson incorporate it (or elements of it) into whatever he’s got cooking?
What say we start a new thread when the next issue begins posting?
