ESPN has this contest giving away bobbleheads of their various anchors where you get entries by scouring their website. So I did this for about fifteen minutes and I got an email telling me I won. It doesn’t say who, either Chris Berman, Kenny Mayne or Stuart Scott. Pretty cool, eh?
We are a winning bunch! I won the Sears Harry Potter contest.
Well, ok. I didn’t win the GRAND prize, which was a trip for four to London to see the world premier of the movie, but I won one of the FIRST prizes. Which is a Harry Potter Gryffindor scarf.
(And just like you’d expect from the brains at Sears, they sent them out with no prior warning, no markings and no return address in a padded envelope. I must have hemmed and hawed over that thing for a half hour before curiosity got the best of me and I decided to open it rather than being safe and tossing it in the trash. Morons!)
Just as well, they already had a sneak showing of it to the public in Chicago. One wonders what exactly are the requirements for ‘world premiere’ anyway?
BTW, the real reason I’m here is to congratulate both of you and ask if I could rub your heads for luck. If you don’t mind of course.
