ESPN is reporting no charges for FSU's Jameis Winston.

And all these “sources” that said she knew Winston beforehand, and had a down-low relationship with him, and that there were pictures of them together, and that it was a lovers’ quarrel? Why do you suppose someone felt it necessary to make up all those lies?

Huh, and here I thought attention whores wouldn’t want to be anonymous.

Federal civil rights investigators have opened an investigation into whether FSU’s handling of the Jameis Winston rape allegations violated Title IX laws.

Since it happened at an off-campus apartment I think it is entirely a police matter–not a university matter.

That article doesn’t even make it clear that she filed a complaint with the university about the alleged rape. Although, as you say, I’m not sure what they would have to do with anything, since it all took place off campus.

At any rate, there really isn’t that much info in that article. If FSU did indeed err in how they handled this, I hope that corrective and/or punitive measures are taken as appropriate.

Go 'Noles!

Sounds like some intern at the justice department has an ax to grind.

Just to highlight this, two players who were at the party - the ones who said they witnessed the alleged assault - have been charged with violations of FSU’s code of conduct. But yes, it’s the Justice Department civil rights inquiry that’s a joke.

The New York Times just published an investigation of the case, and it completely vindicates dalej42’s conclusions. Haha, I’m just kidding. It’s horrible.

So the truth comes out, the accuser really is a gold digger. No shock at all, it’s always about the money.

The accuser certainly needs to be named. This is hardly a rape case, it’s more of a infatuated female getting the sex she wanted, then getting all weird after her cleat chasing was completed. Now it’s all about the $$$

Of course if you read an article about the subject, you might feel dale42 didn’t provide the full picture.

I would go so far as to call it a completely dishonest interpretation that accepts as gospel truth everything alleged by one party, and conveniently ignores everything said by the other.

And then there’s the obvious trap: if she didn’t sue, he’d say it’s because she is obviously a liar and as no case. If she does sue, she’s obviously just in it for the money. If you think this way, there is literally no way a woman can accuse an athlete of anything without being guilty of something.

See a therapist.

Her crime, of course, is interfering with someone’s enjoyment of football by not letting an athlete do whatever he wants.

Not so fast, my friend! If she let him do whatever he wanted, she’d *still *be guilty of being a cleat-chaser. Sort of like a lesser included offense.

Maybe this is what they mean by original sin.

This kind of sexism is hardly original.

And if she not only didn’t file charges, but married him and tried to secure a lenient punishment, guess what!

Maybe I’ve misunderstood this whole thing and dalej42 is an old-timey prospector.

Isn’t that what this tread is about?

Ohhhh therapist… nevermind.

Ha. It’s understandable, I type-a in a heavy Italian accent.

The NFL will love this self entitled bozo after he enters their league. Guaranteed he’ll do something stupid or even criminal and give the NFL another black eye within 4 years of going pro.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with this article and Winston should withdraw from FSU and leave college football to avoid the witch hunt. He’ll have to pay the blackmail from the accuser, but hopefully we can get her name out in public so she can be appropriately shamed as a liar.

Winston can spend a few months working out with QB coaches and prepare for the draft. Hopefully he’s learned enough from his dumb missteps about shoplifting, quoting rap lyrics, and skanky lying women to have a successful NFL career.
