Yep, the worst record in football. They suggest QB Matt Stafford could be a Jamarcus-ish type bust. I hope they are bad at prognostications.
Will it ever end? It is only over 50 years ,so far since they won a championship.
I don’t really have that much faith in Stafford. I didn’t like him them, and I don’t think He is that good now. All that said I think he will be a step better than any QB they have had in 10 years(If he can stay healthy), because he has a true weapon in Johnson. And the D-line is greatly improved. I think they are good for 5-6 wins. and 5-8 worst team.
I just checked out a betting site(going off Superbowl odds, which isn’t quite the same as expected records) and it looks like they have the Rams, Bucs and Bills at the bottom, and Detroit and Cleveland in 4-5 position. Personally I think The Chiefs and Raiders are worse as well, but they will have a chance for a decent record in that abortion of a division.
So I am be a bit more optimistic than the experts.
3 to 5 wins. Max.
Best might make a difference. He adds speed to a team that lacked it. The Lions pushed Cleveland all over the field yesterday ,giving us hope and despair to the Land of Cleves, whatever they are.
Best averaged 51 yards a carry yesterday.
That’s amazing. Look at the schedule. I’d put it in your paws before. Show me where more than 3 to 5 wins come from. Sure, they might sneak out a win against someone they shouldn’t beat, but they’ll also certainly lose to someone they should.
They’re not very good.
This is after an offseason where, as a Lions fan, it was almost offputting to read so many “up and coming” articles about the Lions. It’s been reeeeeally easy to find positive articles about the Lions.
The Lions won’t be anywhere close to the worst team in football. Buffalo, Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Cleveland and Seattle will all be worse. I think the Rams, Lions and Raiders all will make marked improvements in record and performance and I would bet the Lions top that next tier too. There’s a real possibility that the Broncos, Cardinals, Redskins and Giants could all stumble far enough to be beneath a 7-9 Lions team. And as much as it pains me, there’s a real possibility that the Lions won’t even be the worst team in their division if the Bears continue their preseason form through to the regular season.
From what I can see they now have 4 playmakers, Johnson, Suh, Best and Vandenboesch. Last year they only had one and won three games.I think they can beat the Rams, Bills and Bucs. And catch 2 or three other teams on injury weeks or some luck.
Pre-season is a dance not football. Lions won 4 last year. Didn’t matter at all.
Wins and losses don’t matter, the quality of play you get from your starters and first line of subs does.

ESPN puts the Bears at 9 wins. They also see Minnesota and the Packers at 9-7. Everybody but the Lions.
