Eternal Unshine of the Spotless Mind (Spoilers)

Does anyone else think that Mary was a bit of a hypocrite? In the first bit of the movie she thought that memory erasures were great and they helped to make people’s lives a bit better. Then as soon as she found out that she had (voluntarily I might add) had part of her memory erased she was all like “No way, that’s terrible”

Oh, and a supplementary question…how do you get to be the kind of guy that impressionable young girls get crushes on?

Please, there are desperate men out who who are hanging onto your every word.

A hypocrite? I don’t think so. She just realised that she was mistaken in thinking it would be better to live without the pain. She probably presumed too much in sending out the records of all the other patients though.
