Eudora email program problem with italicised display

I have re-installed Eudora on an older (ie about four years old) Acer laptop. It’s the latest, ad-supported version and is working fine, but I have a weird display problem.

Normally in Eudora, out-going mail subject summaries display in italics, but in my newly-installed version everything is italicised except for the mailbox names.

It’s not just the summaries, new messages type in italics, displayed messages are all in italics, bloody everything is italicised. I’ve looked at every possible setting, including the .ini file and I can’t see what the problem is.

It’s not the machine settings, since everything else appears to be displaying correctly. I’ve uninstalled Eudora and deleted all the components and reinstalled a clean version to no avail. Is there some value elsewhere that I should be editing?

This is the machine I’m going to be using from now on, and I’m already getting very tired of the italics. Any help or suggests would be most gratefully accepted, even if you tell me I’m a bloody idiot and have ignored something obvious. javascript:smilie(’:smack:’)

I did, in fact, end up solving my own problem. Don’t ask me how, or why, but changing Mozilla’s default font size from 16 to 12, fixed the Eudora problem.

The only reason it even occurred to me to try this was because I was looking at every possible font setting, and generally having a fiddle. I don’t know why it worked, I’m just glad something did!
