Eureka Enviro Steamer performance dissapointing - Am I using it wrong?

I got one these used the other day for $ 10.00 and operation looks pretty simple. I have no manual. I filled the unit with water and let it heat up. I then put it on the floor so the little holes in
the bottom could steam blast the floor. I tried to run it over the linoleum to remove a stubborn stain and I got a little puddle of near boiling hot water deposited on the floor that did not do much in the way of cleaning.

1: Isn’t this thing supposed to “steam” not dump hot water on the floor. Am I over filling it?

2: How the heck is hot water by itself going to clean the floor? Do I have to follow it around with a towel and scrub brush? A pail of hot water and a brush would seem to be more efficient.

3: It says (on the machine) “for use on hard floor surfaces” but wouldn’t this damaged hardwood floors?

This things not going to steam blast is it?

Is this device supposed to use the awesome power of steam to remove stains, or is it also supposed to suck up the steam and the stain removed by the awesome power of steam.

Why don’t you search online and see if you can find a manual for this device.

According to this page: http://www.eureka.com/whatsnew/deluxenviro.htm it comes with two magic cloths. Did you get the magic cloths? Without the magic, I guess it wouldn’t work too well. There’s no substitute for magic!

Oh, and here’s the manual.

Magic Cloths! I don’t got no stinkin magic cloths! No cloths! Aieeeeee!!!
