European Dopers: "HogafflaHage"?

The other day, the Weird Earl’s link was 4 horses singing. My son got a kick out of it and wanted to see more like it, so I shortened the link to see what else was on the website. HogafflaHage (press the STARTA button, then click on the animals, and keep clicking in the new windows to see silly games, etc.)

The whole thing is hilarious! It would probably be funnier if I could understand whatever language that is.
They have typical merchanise such as t-shirts and baseball hats - such as what you would see for a popular cartoon in the states.

So, can anyone tell me:

  1. What country does this originate from? I am guessing Sweden? (because of the .se instead of .com. I know Europe uses different letters for different countries…) Similarly, what language is they are speaking? It sounds like it has both Germanic and French influences.
  2. Is there more to these characters than just this web site? It is a TV series or something?
  3. Other than straightforward translating, can anyone tell me the general story behind these characters? It has kind of an Animal Farm feel to it, with Punk rock sheep and skateboarding cows. In particular, chili peppers and cake seem to be a recurring theme.

I want to understand. Anyone familiar with this???

It’s Swedish. “Högaffla Hage” means "Hay Fork Farm (literally enclosure). I assume it is a kids show, since that is the Swedish Television website.

It’s a site for a children’s TV summer serie that aired last year. Sorry I don’t know anything else about it.

Hon, e-mail Priceguy our SD-very own Suede and polyglot.

We’re actually a handful of Swedes here.
I don’t think the story or content can really be deduced from the website. From looking around, it seems one has to have seen the tv show to make any sense out of it.

It’s pretty weird, though.

Good, not quite as weird as the website of a TV show that’s airing in the UK now;
www.boohbah.tv

Mangetout, that site is fab :slight_smile: I just spent over a half hour there!

And yet you posted just 10 minutes after he gave us the address! Tell me, at what fraction of light speed are you travelling? :slight_smile:

Guh! One day and ten minutes.
