That and in hi-sec youll be outnumbered very quickly regardless of your gang size.
Yep, each person who gets criminally flagged gets their own pair of frigs and a battleship.
Luxury! I have 6m in gunnery and 25.5k in missiles…
The other replies about CONCORD are correct. They are uber and even if you somehow did manage to evade CONCORD (a near impossible task but there are ways) it is deemed an exploit to survive a CONCORD attack. In short, if CONCORD is after you, then your ship must explode. Period.
However, it is important to distinguish between CONCORD and faction police. You will see faction police at gates flying “normal” (i.e. ships players can fly) ships around. These guys may come after you if you are moving contraband (such as drugs or tags and the like) and will come after you if you are persona non grata in their space due to a low security rating or disliked enough by that faction (usually from running missions for their opposing faction).
The police ships you CAN fight and beat as you like (if you are able). Or run away if you prefer. There is no value in killing them though so as to not make them an item worth farming. You kill them mainly to get away if it comes to it.
Can see my priorities are a bit different. I have 5.8 million in missiles and 993k in Gunnery.
Bah, sometimes this game gets to me.

I had docked for all of 15 seconds to pick up the sisters probe launcher which I had imported from empire at fairly hefty expense. When I undocked there was a station camp that wasn’t there previously.
Now I discover that Buzzards are for some reason 10, dearer than when last I bought one.
Sigh, guess I’ll never afford those capital skillbooks.
Undock bookmarks FTW!
Not sure if they can be stopped at all…especially versus a Buzzard.
I am kind of surprised anyone can get a lock and point on a Buzzard before it can go to warp anyway…they are fast. Those guys must’ve been really on the ball.
Bubbles, my friend. Easy to forget about them in Empire, but bubbles are the bane of cov ops pilots.
For those following along… today was a very bad day for anti-Kenny forces in 49-. From the battle reports I’ve read, GKC forces outnumbered our guys by at least 2:1 at most points, with local spiking about 1700 when we bridged in. Perhaps Wolf can clarify, but from what I’ve heard every single Kenny POS that came out of ref was saved, and every Goon pos that came out of ref was annihilated. The current total was put, by an alliance mate at 20 Goon POS’s in system currently with all 20 in ref, and 23 Kenny POS’s in system with 4 in ref.
Whatever else you say about them, GKC knows how to whip the grunts into shape and get them to the front lines en masse.
Kenny’s great because with a lot of -A- help they might be able to tip the tower count in a sov 2 system in Querious?
Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Ok I’ll give you the run down.
What happened happened because of one piece of shitty shitty luck and 1 piece of not entirely clear thinking.
The first set of bad stront timers was because the two people who were assigned to stront timing managed to collide with each other on the edge of the bubble at the pos, decloaking each other and getting both stront timers popped.
The second set was because the only anzac time stront timer we had didn’t have a cov ops and couldn’t get to the poses without dying.
So we ended up with 2 sets of shittily timed poses, at which point kenny called in every favour they had. Herre’s a list of the alliances that were in local and opposed to us yesterday (yes I counted these, yes I was bored):
AAA
Atlas
Strip mining club
EXE
Kenny
Systematic Chaos
BeachBoys
Coven
Red.Overlord
Ushra’khan
Stain Empire
SCA
Frontal Impact
TORMENTUM
CARD (corp)
Skunk works
Burning Souls (neutral)
R.U.R
Blade.
CIC
AAA Citizens
Interdiction
HUN reloaded
The Five
Privateer alliance
So that’s 1200 people versus our 400 (only about 200 actual Kenny showed up, I personally don’t see why people fight for them still after seeing their attitude to other alliances), in addition I believe our NC friends had some issues to deal with back home so they were unable to assist in their usual numbers (btw whatever kenny may say, the NC have been awesome for this whole campaign and we very much appreciate the help).
So yesterday we couldn’t achieve a whole lot to try retrieve the situation. The system is however not yet lost so we’ll keep forcing them to turn up with 1200 people every day and we’ll see how long they can sustain that participation, especially when (not if) someone else makes a move on the completely undefended AAA space.
And now some cool propoganda pictures:

The lesson here:
Do not fly expensive special snowflake ships.
Thanks for the after action report. I hadn’t heard the goon side of it, only the “try to get out of 49- op scheduled for…” RZR side of it. I missed the fight due to some shitty circumstances.
And yeah thanks for listing those kills, but it honestly doesn’t surprise me. Even deadspace fit, all T3 really amounts to is a chance for your enemies to get some great loot drops. A bad session change, a CTD, whatever, and you’re out a lot of cash and potentially quite a few SP’s.
It seems a bit like taking a Nightmare into PvP. Sure, if circumstances are right you’ll absolutely ruin your opposition. But for the same price as a faction fitted 'mare, you could also have something like nine or ten fleet fit battleships, fully insurable and unlikely to be primaried immediately. And if circumstances are wrong, all you’ve done is give your opponents a nice killmail. And I think most of us know how far killmail whores (like me!) will go for a nifty killmail. A mothership that’s tackled can bring people 30+ jumps. A titan probably twice that, maybe more.
Question for those in the know:
What’s the politics of Pure Blind NPC space? Is it locked down by a few corporations or are the mission hubs fairly ‘come as you are’ free for alls? I know it’s fairly close to NC space so maybe some of you would know.
I’m looking to take a break from pvp doing some missioning (while contributing with my logistics alt in delve) and theres a few factions I’m interested in based in that area.
For those following along… 49- has been abandoned as the primary battleground. And now our (Razor’s) staging system and home base came under attack.
With hilarious results. (As long as you’re not BoB)
AAA was evidently not on the field. If Beaver can’t mobilize AAA, it looks like we’ll easily smash them when they try to take 9CG-
Even now, reports are that roughly 14 Kenny dreads logged off at the POS they dropped in system… that we have bubbled up the wazoo. I’m just annoyed that I logged on too late to get any good Beaver action. No dread killmail whoring for me.
After reading through a lot of this, looks like I’ll have to log on to actually play in the near future, instead of just to click on skills for training. It’s been a while.
Maybe this article from Goonswarm’s spymaster will whet-your-whistle for EVE a little more. Here’s a snippet:
Nope, we’re back to 49- again. Kenny’s complete inability to do anything without being propped up by Accepting All Aluminium (a.k.a against all but 25 authorities) is once again evident. We reinforced every kenny tower in 49- and AAA and friends had to issue yet another call to arms to get people to defend kenny’s interests. This CTA comes on a day they were supposed to have ‘off’ to do other things on. Their last CTA got 1400 people, this one got 400. Welcome to the meatgrinder folks, we hope you like repping pos belonging to other people with no gain for yourselves.
In more humourous news, This is why you don’t X up for gangs in local. Kenny, they’re better than you (at losing ships)
True enough. It looked, when I posted that, as if 49- had been rolled and the battle was moving on. Since the first fight in 9CG though, I don’t think we’ve seen Bobbits there, at all. And it does seem that they’ve now become AAA pets and can’t really operate without them.
However, I don’t grok what you’re getting at wrt the jump freighter kill. Can you elaborate?
Just after downtime as everyone was logging back in and getting back in gang the JF pilot asked for an invite in local.
We invited him…
And warped him to our pos, where he promptly died.
Turns out the JF was full of stront for their poses in system too.
The lesson here is hence ‘do not X up in local, especially if you are stupid enough to not notice you’re in a gang with goons and they are gang warping you’.
