A kinda similar statute pertains to wrongful entrustment (sometimes titled “owner operator”), under which a person is prosecuted for letting someone else drive her car when the driver did not have the lawful privilege to do so. The driver may still be prosecuted for no driver license, driving under suspension, etc.
