South Carolina still flies a confederate flag over its State House.
I say a Floridian claiming Texas is full of weirdos is like a New Yorker saying California is full of liberals.
Apparently the flag flies over a memorial to the Confederate dead on the grounds of the State House and was removed from the dome of the State House in 2000. Does that seem a little less objectionable to you, or not? Not being snarky; I am really curious if this seems like an improvement to others. It kinda does to me but I’m not sure how I feel.
Well, they moved it from the dome of the State House to a memorial on the State House grounds - which, if I am reading the Wikipedia article right, was built “to honor Confederate dead” after the flag was removed from the dome. So they basically just moved it somewhere a bit less conspicuous.
