Good morning, MMP!
Just got caught up, and I’m off to go run errands. To the grocery store, to my son’s apartment, and to Garden Ridge to get some big pots for the plants hubby bought this past weekend.
Catch you later!

HEY SEAN!!!
FEELIN’ ANY BETTER ???
Hi Sean!!!
My favorite part of today’s negotiating session was…wait, some back story is needed. The one, single thing my drivers fear is having the district decide to contract their jobs out to a contractor. Oh, most of them would just end up working for that contractor, but lose their juicy school district benefits and stuff like that.
So, today when the Asst. Sup is reading our counter-proposal to their first offers, and he says “We reject your section XYZ to extend this agreement for 3 years, and propose a one-year agreement”
Pin drops.
Nasty, nasty looks at us. Because they KNOW what that means in one year’s time.
I’m gonna start parking my car where I can see if someone cuts the brake lines.
Much better, thanks! I got the first of three parts of the job done, and am actually starting to make progress now. You’re so good at whip-cracking! (And I get ACBG could really give us the low-down on that! :D)
I got some really lovely lace-weight yarn in the mail today that I’d ordered from Handpainted Yarn – but now I feel like need a swift and a yarn winder to use it easily! I guess, since I’m cheap, I’ll make do for now, but those have just been added to my wish list. Although with the amount of yarn I have piled up right now, any project with that yarn is so far down the queue that I probably will have ample time to get the swift and winder before I use it in any case.
MBG –!! Be careful! Was the one-year agreement your idea? If not, make sure the union knows that you’re not the guilty party!
Well, he does seem to enjoy a stern taskmaster from time to time.
Bet the TMI police will be all over that one!
MBG yikes! Well, I survived messin’ with everybody’s payday, so you’ll survive this. I think. I dunno… sometimes them unions is mean…
Um… ::looks around carefully :: yeah. All mine.

Oooh! Well, be careful! Remember, it’s not paranoia if they really are watching you!
Ugh, fog like pea soup and drizzle, just like yesterday. Skiffman is out spliting wood for the banya, which will make my old bones all warm and toasty, and my muscles all relaxed in time for bed tonight!
I played with the camera last night, but photobucket is being slow to upload the photos I took. I’ll add them as they become available. I thought I would show you the (heh) kittens, but then doggyservant requested Poms, so I got a couple of them as well, and also my beautiful African Violet which is blooming it’s baby head off. I absolutely love this camera, and I have barely scratched the surface of what it can do.
Yesterday was utterly pissy until the camera came, and so I was hitting the nerve tonic before the mail came (bringing my camera, which made life much happier) so Sean I am sharing your post nerve tonic head. It’s not too bad, but it’s there. Plus some sinus stuff, stupid cat (Kazz) slept on my pillow so I am also feeling allergic, and probably the two benedryl I just swallowed will send me off to napland pretty soon.
Yay FCM regarding the new car! It’s real purty, too!
li-li I read through your dance movements, but in no way do I ever feel the urge to stand up and attempt to replicate them! My back and hips would promptly go out and send me to bed if I even gave it a second thought, lol! I admire you and the other ladies who are so inclined, it’s gotta be a major workout. Thanks for the update on QD, that sort of friendship is a good thing.
Drae it might do you good to heed the wisdom of the small child, at three years old my nephew not only predicted my pregnancy, but he was the only person to predict a baby girl…daughter #3. Just sayin’… ![]()
I love Bill the Cat, and Opus, one of my all time favorite comic strips was Bloom County.
MBG remember Perfect Paranoia is Perfect Awareness! ![]()
back when the kittens were kittens
The kittens today:
These two have a stronge siamese influence in body type and vocalization. Then there is Bo, who, I believe, must have had a Maine Coon daddy:
Bo snuggled up
Bo’s a big kitty!
Bo limp as a dishrag
More later, did I mention how much I love this camera?
TMI Alert: My bras fit again! No more quadruple boobies! Hurray! I’ve been losing weight since the beginning of the year, slowly, and it looks like I’ve lost just enough to fit into my bras. ::Happy Dance:: Since my bras cost $70/each, this is a Very Good Thing. My other clothes fit better, too. I had just done some depressing calculations last night, too, when I realized that my (normal) weight in high school was probably due to the fact that I was exercising 2 - 3 hours a day during the week, and 6 - 8 hours a day on the weekends. Plus, I was a teenager. So I need to come up with a more realistic target weight, and decide how much I want to exercise, and compromise between the two. Still, my bras fit!
I’m almost done with the beading rows. I’m glad I switched beads, these new ones look much better with this yarn.
Proceed carefully, MBG!
Holy mackerel, kai, Bo is a big kitty! Good kitty, niiiiiiice kitty, please don’t hurt me, kitty.
So
Happy
It’s
Thursday!

First, a clarification. Idiot Stupidhead isn’t my boss. Never was, never will be. He’s supposed to be a liaison officer. He thinks he should be boss. And from things I’ve been hearing, I won’t have to work with him again. So yay!
Second, I’m pooped, and not just because a certain small canine has taken 2 dumps in my house since last night. I woke up around 1, and didn’t fall back to sleep till almost 3 - my brain started thinking about Idiot Stupidhead and the report I wrote today. And I gotta go to class tonight, so I expect to be in the major zombie mode before 9…
Third, it’s still cold here. My green van looks white with all the salt residue on it, and it’s too cold to hose it off. Maybe this weekend?
Fourth, I got nothing else. Is it Friday yet??
BEEEG Kitty!
See, it’s like this - the outsourcing is pretty inevitable. Not necessarily my choice, but I know it’s the choice of the Powers That Be, and they mostly be the Powers I Report To, so knowing the way the wind blows, I just figure it’s better to give folks a heads up now rather than sign a 3 year agreement, and blindside them in a year.
Right now they know if they want to keep their Fancy Schmancy jobs on the public dime, they have some PR work to do in the community.

Thanks for all the loud hellos. They really helped. But I took a nap in my car azt lunch, and feel much better.
Good thing, too, because this afternoon has been a real pill. We had a problem with a brand new digital temperature meter that we had flown in yesterday for a customer who needed it calibrated and certified by noon today. At 3 o’clock, it’s still no reading what it should, and the guy needs it now because he’s driving halfway across the state and they have to have it for a job they’re doing at 7 a.m. tomorrow. Luckily, we were able to certify the range he expected to use (below 100 degreee F), and he’ll bring it back Monday for us to finish the adjusting. I was a little worried, because he is a new customer, and first impressions are important in our business. He seemed happy enough with what he left with, and promised to bring some more3 equipment for us to calibrate for him. A good ending.
Unlike another new customer of ours. They are a manufacturing giant, with a name known in jujst about every household. The needed a force test stand, and agreed to buy a new model that one of the firms we represent just introduced. Nothing but bugs in the software, delivery date kept getting extended and extended, and the supplier was very uncommunicative with us. So, this manufacturing giant cancelled their order, and unless I can find something by another manufacturer, we won’t be seeing them anymore.
Ohhh, kitties! So cute! My MIL’s cate Duke is slightly bigger than Bo, I think. That makes Bo huge. He’s so fluffy! I want a kitty! (looks around) Well, a better kitty. Fluffier.
I’m all sleepy. I just had a nap. Do I have to go to work?
Off to wash dishes (fun! yay!).
Ugh, Sean --that doesn’t sound fun.
MBG --tricky situation to be in…and where ARE those knitting needles…No worries, I’m on the case–no one will murder you (at least not with knitting needles!).
Jahdra --is this talent with yarn a new thing or have you been hiding it from us all these many months? We want pics of your stuff, please.
I would bellydance, but I’m afraid I might permanently dislocate something, like my spine…
Came home from the lib, took a nap and here I am. Still tired (and I checked out fine for anemia and my thyroid is ok–why am I always so tired nowaday? Another mystery)
kai, that’s not a kitty! That’s a Kodiak Kougar!!
Where are those pommies. I wanna see pommies. They are so keeeeee-ute!
I wanna see Poms too! Dang that Bo is one hyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge cat! Kai does Bo have a stache? One of my mom’s cats (Groucho, sorry no pics. What? He ain’t my cat!) has a stache, hence the name Groucho for Groucho Marx.
I await pizza. Actually we await pizza cause ol’ y’all know who is here. Actually, he’s buyin’ the pizza so I guess it’s him awaiting pizza delivery. I just await eatin’ pizza.
Think I’ll go have a nerve tonic whilst awaitin’ pizza.
**kai ** - cute kitties!
**sean ** - How’s Your Head, Buh-die?
**Drae ** - Roomie’s getting married???
Off to rehearsal - I may or may not check in later - 'pends how tired I am when I get home.
Thus far, only in semi-prophetic dreams … but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them come true. Just not this year.
oh - btw - I’m going to send you the info for that thing again this year - let me know what you think (I’ll be sending it much later tonight - don’t look for it now)
