Swampy, big hugs and good vibes from Hyde Park!! If we lived closer to each other I’d offer to buy you a drink.
I’ve done so little today. I’ve been hanging out in the department lounge every since noon. Our potluck lunch finished 2 hours ago and me and Scottish Darling have just been amusing ourselves by drawing on the blackboard and avoiding work. 'Tis the life.
That’s appalling, swampy! I about fell off the couch reading your news. Clearly, they don’t understand the value you bring to their operation. Very sucky. But a good opportunity to reassess and make sure you wind up someplace you really want to be. (You’re always welcome in Ohio, you know…) Let us know if you need anything. I’d be happy to review your resume if you need someone else to read it (e-mail’s in my profile).
But… Porcupine Bottomwash… hee hee.
And MBG, they reported that merger on NPR while I wasn’t quite awake. But I was awake enough to think…“Did they say school buses?” and “MBG.”
Back from work and laundry. I have fish in the oven. I booked my flight for vacation. I am glad I shopped around, I saved $150 bucks.
LiLi, you want snow? There is 9 feet of snow on Oswego, NY. There is a salt encrusted pick up with New York plates in the apartment parking lot. Apparently we are taking refugees.
swampy, that sucks. I hope the job search goes well(heck even I was only unemployed for a week and a half).
Yawn. I took a nap, and when I woke up, I wondered why I felt so hungry and dehydrated. OMG! Vampires have been sucking my blood! I think I need to take myself out to a nice (early) dinner as a reward. I got a thank you card from Nordstroms today. Did I spend **that **much money? I’ve spent that much on yarn. Ok, maybe that doesn’t help my case any.
I’m currently in insurance limbo. That is, I have COBRA, and it’s paid for, but Kaiser doesn’t show me as active. They’d better, right quick, since I have an appointment on Wednesday, and I have a couple of prescription refills. Luckily, those are pretty cheap, and I can pay out of pocket if I need to. Thank goodness I no longer need $6/day meds.
I am a new car owner - does that cheer you up, swampy??
The radio in the Scion freaked me out - the display kept changing colors. Turns out that I can pick any color or let it cycle thru all of them. I haven’t checked out anything else since I was too busy driving - tomorrow I’ll play. It is weird having all the dash instruments sitting in the middle of the dash and not in front of the me. After I post and finish reading the funnies, I’m going to page thru the owner’s manual - gotta figger out how to set the clock.
Well, we finally paid for dinner at Longhorn. The service was prompt and dinner was good. So yay!
Weekend plans include laundry, some clay play, some mudding, and some driving around. I s’pose I should get the guest room done so when **swampy ** comes up here on job interviews I can offer some southern Merrylande hospitality!
Heh, trying doing it on the side of the road next to a running fire engine while someone is screaming or in the back of a diesel medic - they’re LOUD. It takes practice. Good for you, though. I loved EMT class.
Well, my valentines are just about done, ready to be mailed in the morning. Yay! Gotta get some family valentines and some birthday cards for friends.
But first, I get to sleep in, if I feel like it.
Yay! And yay!
And congrats on the new car, FCM. One of my friends used to have a car with a lot of dashboard stuff in the middle. She thought it would be odd, but she got used to it very quickly.
Awww, Bear o’ the Black Water that just bites. I hope that you have some time to enjoy just being home, but also that your utter faaaaaabulousness will net you an equally faaaaaabulous position with many benefits and perks, and no more mopheads or wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire haaaaaaaaaaangers. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
Cool on the car FCM, I love new toys and playing with the bells and whistles, enjoy!
taxi I hope that you have a faaaaaaboulous weekend.
oh dear, I seem to have gotten stuck…
Yay Mama Tigs for insurance!
To everyone who commented on kitties and Pommies, thank you very much. And thanks for commenting on my kid, she is becoming a young woman and it’s kind of funny to look at her and remember daughter #2 at that age, and then remember how much they look like I did at their age.
To all of you female types who have commented on skiffman, yeah, he’s cute, and thanks. We have been together for so long that I had to make a point of checking him out when he got out of the shower, and he’s still a cutie pie. Right now he is having a bit of trouble handling the fact that on Sunday he will turn 39. Since I recently turned 47 I keep telling him that age is all in the mind. (Yeah, I robbed the cradle a bit, but it has worked long enough that we don’t have a problem with it. Actually we never did. )
Well, it’s another insomnia night for me, I’ll say g’night to you in here, and then go off and try to figure out why my computer has been misbehaving. Until tomorrow…xoxo
That’s stinky news, Swamps but I may have the solution to your problems. My local supermarket might have a position for a cheese-taster…
Kai - 'im indoors is 39 in May, he’s already starting to freak about it. I just told him once that’s out of the way, I can start planning his Big Party for the following year. He’s already looking worried.
Weekend plans? Last night we watched PotC2 on DVD accompanied by Chinese food and wine. Later today we have to go into town for nasty shopping stuff - 'im indoors has mentioned the words “clothes for work” which is always bad news where he’s concerned. I may have to leave him to it and hide in the library until it’s over.
Tomorrow I’m heading over to see the doting parent provided we don’t have any more snow today - the roads are ok really but she worries about me driving in bad weather ever since the clutch on my Polo went and I told her at the time I was doing an excessive speed in the outside lane of the M6.
Today’s good news is that Shadow got into the bedroom this morning and spent a bit of time on the bed without weeing on it! I know, it doesn’t take much to keep me happy…
Speaking of aging persons, it should be noted that today is doggio’s birthday, so let me start out with:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dogbutler!!!
I wanted to sleep in, but apparently that wasn’t in the cards. So I’m going to be a good girl and get some cleaning done and start some laundry and then get myself to Target and the post office and the grocery. I have a potluck to go to at 3 - I almost forgot about it. Decided to make my favorite red cabbage salad. It’s kinda like a Waldorf salad only better. Haven’t made it in ages.
