Ever Have A Day When Everyone Is In A Pissy Mood? Today Was My Day.

This was one of those days that I thought I had pissed in everyone’s cereal.
OK, it was a cloudy, odd-weather day in Las Vegas but I went to school in a fairly upbeat mood.

That ended quickly.

It seemed everybody had some kind of mental disconnect and from the minute I entered the door, I could almost taste the bile floating through the hallways and into the classrooms and teachers’ lounge.

Cold shoulders, snippy answers, intentional slights…it was just freaky.
At first I thought it was me…got very paranoid and it took all the courage I could muster to see if there was a pink slip or something in my in-box - nope.
I noticed it was happening to everyone.

I have a student who just wrote me a nasty email complaining about how I treated him in class, an instructor who is pissed about something (who knows what) and lots of bitching from everyone about everything and everybody.

Wow…can’t remember this happening in a very long time - to be honest, I think it last happened after a long period of rain when I lived in Berlin.

Very happy this day is over.

I have never had a day where everyone else was nasty to me. I’ve had plenty of days where I’m nasty to everyone else. I guess if you think about it statistically, if a person has a 1/10 chance of having a bad day, there’s a one in a million chance everyone you talk to happens to be having a bad day.

Sorry – I was one of the pissy ones today, but in all fairness, the nurses forgot about me for my 8 am doctor appointment (got in around 9 after popping up to remind them I exist), and the chemo nurse stuck me three times before getting a vein to put the IV in. Chemo sucks. Let’s try not to make it suckier.
