Ever lost your temper in public?

I was reading the ‘People who are just plain Sorry’ thread in the Pit, when I remembered an incident from my past…

I and a friend were at the pictures (cinema) watching… a film. (can’t remember what it was. Might have been ‘Glimmer Man’)

There was a middle-aged couple sat two seats to my left. They were nattering constantly. No one else in the theatre were nattering. Just they.

I put up with this niggling irritation for at least half an hour until the irritation penetrated to the heart of my brain. It exploded into action.

“Will you shut the fuck up! People are trying to watch a film!” Kicking the chair near them.

They did shut up. But my friend, anticipating confrontation afterwards, and sensing a fear in me of said confrontation (a fear that did not exist) nudged me in the direction of an alternate exit when the film ended.
Have you ever lost your temper in public?

Well, not in public, but at work. I worked with a woman who was the only person who has been able to make me lose my temper in my whole adult life. I’ll spare you the details, but she got on my case or made my job miserable one too many times, and it devolved into a shouting match, and I slammed her office door on the way out. Hard. She then tried to get me fired for it, but it didn’t work. Now she is long gone and I am still there. But I think it still hurt me, professionally. But Og, she was supremely annoying sometimes.
