Ever wake up having thought of a GOOD idea?

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about work stuff. But what I’m thinking about is always complete bullshit that’s not useful at all. For example–recently at work I had an issue dealing with general partners of a partnership, and I woke up thinking about trying to push the general partner through the partnership (like a person trying to push the proverbial square peg through the proverbial round hole).

But I’ve heard about folks waking up with the whole idea of the next Great American Novel fully formed in their head as they sleeped (oops, thank you Mr. red squiggly line–I guess it’s actually “slept”). Has anything like this ever happened to you?

No Great American Novel or anything, but I often solve technical work problems that have been bothering me overnight.

Of course, I come up with spectacularly bad ideas about ten times as often, but usually, they’re not related to work and I rarely implement them in the light of day.
