The graphics are fine, but nothing to write home about. PC Gamers would hate them.
I like the interface. I like the idea of playing this type of game sitting on the couch or in bed instead of at the computer. (Please, let FFXI come to the states!)
I already have my USB keyboard (needed it for Madden and Frequency Online :D)
Overall it’s pretty fun, but I can’t see myself paying for it once it’s released. I’ll save that treatment for FFXI.
I’m pleased to announce that I haven’t even OPENED Everquest in 2.5 weeks. I don’t know what’s up. I just got sick of it, I guess. Took me almost two years!
The problem I have with the controls is that I like the first-person view better, and it’s taking some getting used to for me to use one joystick for forward/back and the other for turning right/left
Hmmm, I was devastatingly addicted to the PC version from April of '99 until May of '01, I’m not sure if I should even look at this version. Some questions…(only answer the ones that won’t get you in trouble)
Are the zones the same?
Which continents are included?
Are the characters the same?
Can you solo?
Can you play offline?
Are the mobs the same?
Loot/Armour/Stats the same?
Will it ever be ported to other consoles or is it a ps2 exclusive? (I’m guessing only ps2 since sony owns eq)
Some of the zones are the same. It all takes place 500 years in the past from the PC game, before the elf factions have split (high elf/wood elf). Kunark, Velious, and Luclin have obviously not been discovered yet.
Characters are very similar
Yes you can solo
No you cannot play offline
So far I’ve been fighting crows, magpies, rats, diseased rats, spiderlings, etc. I’m only lvl 4
Not sure about the loot stuff, I haven’t mastered the inventory screen yet
