At 10 am Thursday FXX (not FX) starts airing every Simpsons in order starting with episode one. I started setting my DVR for episodes I would like to see and realized I got to almost 40 by Friday evening.

I’d like to know what the point of this is. I doubt I’ll be able to watch more than 1/10th of them.
If one doesn’t mind breaking ethical and legal codes, yes.
It’s like the Twilight Zone marathon the SciFi (or whatever they call themselves these days…H3?) Channel has on Independence Day. They don’t expect people to watch the whole thing, but to watch certain segments of it.

I had thought the Simpsons app and the FXX marathon were being introduced at the same time. I guess I got my Simpsons news wires crossed. And I’ve noticed you have to look pretty deep into the scummy side of the Internet to find even clips of the Simpsons. Fox is very actively protective of uploads to the more legitimate video sites.

Youtube has a few clips, but not many. People used to upload full episodes at 1.5x speed, but Fox got wise to that as well.
“FXX”?? Wow, Fox turned into a hardcore sex channel so gradually, I didn’t even notice.

I don’t get FXX, so it’s pretty academic for me, but I’m curious - is this going to be 2 weeks of 24/7 Simpsons? (Or a few months of Simpsons blocks? Or almost a year of one-episode-a-day?)

The obvious response is “Why Not?”, though it does beg the question on whether these will be episodes that had small content details changed for syndication. My guess is probably…
24/7 for as long as it takes. Once that is done it becomes a show on their schedule but they did mention they would do other marathons in the future (all the Halloween episodes for example on Halloween).
