I suppose I love talking about Hindu mythology and culture. But I freely admit I don’t know enough to go on forever about it.
I don’t really talk about my hobbies much, though.
I don’t talk about my job other than to my coworkers because it causes people’s eyes to glaze over in less than five seconds.
I avoid carrying on about my cats or whining about my health or my dysfunctional family.
I probably still talk too much about my garden.
*Only two things that money can’t buy, and that’s true love and home grown tomatoes. *(Guy Clark)
Bird watching
The antics of my 4 budgies
Skydiving- although I don’t bring it up much after seeing  so many times.
Food, including beer and wine
Greyhounds in general and my own greyhound in particular (comes in handy when someone’s boring you with endless stuff about their kids! :D)
Running / exercise.
Playing the guitar.
New York City.
None of which, weirdly enough, I knew jack all about two years ago. What I spent 31 years talking about before that I have no idea.
(Mostly, though, I’ve been practicing how to just shut up and let other people talk, it seems to work better.)
My old beagle, Madison, and how awesome she was.
In fact, all of 2008. First my best friend’s dog passed, then my cat that I had for 17 years, then my leopard gecko that I had for 13 years, then my own dog, then my best friend herself passed away. I used to talk about them all the time but now that time is “healing the wounds” I don’t mention them much anymore.
Heroclix. (Wherever my wife is, she just rolled her eyes.)
Atheism. (debate me!)
A system I developed a decade ago that’s still in production and everyone else on the team is no longer here. (I’ll never be fired mwah ha ha!)
Bowling. Seriously. Ask all my (remaining, barely clinging to life) friends.
Aircooled Volkswagens.
Paleontology.
Greek Mythology
One nice thing. My 9 year old daughter has recently started asking, “Daddy, can you tell me random things?” Which is my cue to start telling her things that would bore normal people to death.
