EVERYONE--PLEASE JOIN ME IN WISHING SHAYNA A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Shayna?

Is that the fiery redhead with the flashing eyes?

Take her clothes off and bring her to me!

Happy Birthday, babe.

Who loves ya biggest?

::thud:: (the sound of me hitting the ground as I faint because Omniscient actually flirted with me. swoon!)

And no, Omni, I didn’t mean to imply that all flirting was prohibited here. But this is my birthday thread. Let zyada do her flirting elsewhere - hehehe

Now I am on my way for those spankings…

ultress, Rose & Bill, tatertot and justwannano, thank you so much for the sweet birthday wishes.

elelle, you are just too, too kind. And sweet, gorgeous, brilliant and shining yourself. Thank you!

Grace, that ROCKS!! Yee Haa - bring on the men, baby!! Thanks, hon!

SterlingNorth, I would love to have a drink with you to celebrate. Just send me a map. Thanks!

(P.S. - post more often!)

Ruffian, where’ve you been, girlfriend? I haven’t seen nearly enough of you around lately. And I will look forward to taking you up on that froo-froo drink!

Little Nemo, you definitely made it under the wire - 9:48pm my time. Thank you!

DRY, you’re cracking me up. (You know I was just kidding about being frightened, right?) I sure hope you didn’t read the 100 pages that is the history of my life part 1 or surely you must have an imprint of the keyboard on your forehead!

As for what I think of you so far, I think you’re a hoot and very nice. I’m glad you came out of lurking. Again, welcome aboard! However, take your flirting with zyada elsewhere!

And you’d be bored to tears with the mundane and pointless way I spent my birthday. I went to work, I came home. Were it not for your post to me and all these lovely replies I’d have had no fun or excitement at all!

Wally, I’m sitting here nekkid just waiting for you. Where are you, honey?!!! Who loves ya biggest right back?!

Thank you again to everyone who made my birthday so special.

(And to you 140 or so lurkers who looked but didn’t post - pfffffffttttthhhhhhhh!!!)

Where I’m at, it was 12:48 AM. (What can I say? The first day in months I don’t go online and I miss your birthday.) So I’m in New York and you’re in California. Alas, another great romance floundered by the North American landmass.

Little Nemo: "Alas, another great romance floundered by the North American landmass."

Feh! What’s a little plane ride between lovers?

Kidding about being frightened?? Well, I thought so, then I read the “Culver City is nowhere near me” thing (in the SmokeOut thread). Sheesh, talk about your mixed messages!!

Here’s three things about me:

  1. Like any bully, I’m a coward in real life. Confront me openly and I’d probably run away. Or cry. :frowning:

  2. I’m even more mundane and pointless in real life than here (even at 530 am on here)

  3. In talking to females, I’m like a dog chasing cars. I run fast and make a lot of noise, but if I caught one, I wouldn’t have the slightest idea what to do next.

I did read the history of your life, but a bit quickly. If there’s a test, I’m sure I could bluff my way into a passing grade, but as for an A…

As for my flirting with zyada, well, I mentioned her…I meant to leave those quotes deliberately vague as to whether I was talking about her…or you. I also note she hasn’t responded, so I’m all yours…

I’m sorry to hear your birthday was mundane and pointless–you should have spent it making hundreds of posts to MPSIMS.

Anyway, I’d offer to treat you to some sort of birthday meal should we ever meet in person. Seriously.

In any event, I do hope you have a very happy Memorial day weekend. Perhaps your friends and you can get together for an impromptu celebration then!

Jill, I’ve been everywhere. :stuck_out_tongue: It’s the last few weeks of school, and things are getting quite crazy. I come home and browse the SDMB, but have been rarely posting. Things will pick up in 2 1/2 weeks.

See yah soon, girlie!

DRY, please forgive a non-native Californian her idiocy in local geography. I looked at “Culver City” when you typed it and immediately thought, “what’s he talking about, that’s way far away from me!” Obviously I was thinking of the wrong place. So now I’m scratching my head here. Exactly how close is Culver City to South Redondo Beach?

And please don’t cry. That’d make me sad. Especially after how nice you’ve been to me. :frowning:

Laura, good luck with the end of school! Won’t summer be fun?!! And I was serious about that invite to come down to the beach and power walk with me!

Hi, Shayna. I think that I still have a lot to learn about the board–particularly the use of smilies. The :frowning: thing was meant to be somewhat of a joke:

As you posted in another thread…

That makes two of us, I guess.

As to how far away Culver City is from South Redondo Beach, lemme ask you a question or two offline (via e-mail), so if
a basic assumption or two that I’m making is horribly wrong, I might be able to avoid looking like a COMPLETE MORON.

Actually, it’s better to base how far away you are via Century City (my work) than Culver City. I work at 2049 Century Park East. Put it into mapquest (but you have to type in Los Angeles and not Century City for the city) and that should tell you how far away you are…

I do hope you were able to have some semblance of a “happy birthday weekend” with your friends! If we ever do meet, I’ll treat you to some sort of birthday meal.

P.S. Your birthday is fairly close to my grandmother’s (though I don’t know my grandmother’s exact day…sad, huh?). We had a 90th birthday party for her today, though I almost “boycotted” it. [Not because of grandma, but because of someone else. Long story.]

When I was a waiter in a dinner theater, we had our own Happy Birthday song, not the standard version:

This is your… once a year day, once a year day,
Everyone’s entitled to be wild, be a child, be a goof, raise the roof!

Once a year…

Happy birthday!

OK, so it wasn’t a good song.

Happy (belated) birthday, hon!

Ok DRY, I know where Century City is, and that’s not “close” to me, either. But just to be sure, I put the address you gave into mapquest - it’s 20 miles away from me. Now by LA standards, that’s probaby not all that far. But by my Midwest standards, 20 miles is clear on the other side of town - LOL. Besides, it’s 20 miles on the 405 parking lot. It says it’s only a 35 minute drive, but you and I both know better. I’ve never been able to make it up there in under 45 minutes.

As for Culver City, that’s actually a bit closer. I didn’t put in an address, but it gave me a distance of 16 miles with a driving time of 30 minutes. Again, though, we know that ain’t right. Allow at least 45 minutes for the morons to stop cuz the road bends between the airport and the 10 fwy.

So while neither is as far as some family and friends I have in Orange County or Ontario, I still wouldn’t classify them as “close,” either. But you’re certainly not out of driving range! We’ll have to check in with the usual planners of the LA get-togethers and see when they’re organizing the next par-tay. And I’d be honored to let you buy me a drink - thank you!

Well, I don’t get to read many of the threads, but somehow I missed this one…sorry Shayna. Here’s a hearty Happy Birthday to Shayna!!

Thanks Rick and Monster! Gosh, I feel like my birthday’s still going on. This is fun. :D:D:D

I’ve just learned about the Mapquest site not too long ago (6 months?), but I’ve learned that, while the directions are sound enough, the estimated times are laughable–I once put in from my office to Cal State Fullerton, and the estimated time would have only been possible if I was able to break the speed limit during my entire trip–surface streets AND freeways. I mean, the time estimated must have assumed that I could travel in a perfectly straight line OR that I was able to fly!!

I suspected that perspective might account for a bit of why you didn’t think Culver City was all that close by, but when you said “nowhere near me”, I thought it was either a joke, or you were getting it mixed up with somewhere else.

My take on the 405 parking lot is that it isn’t quite as bad as you put it–or maybe I’m just used to it. Also, to come up to, say, Century City, you have to hit TWO bad areas–by the airport, and the 10 freeway intersection. I’m north of the former, so I avoid one of those bottlenecks.

I note that this has officially become a “long thread”. Maybe we can keep this running until your NEXT birthday!

Hope you had a wonderful day, Shayna!! I know! I’ll wish you an early Happy Birthday for NEXT year!! That way, I’m really early, and NOT late at all!!

Have a nice day, if it’s too lat e for your birthday.

Shaneequa, happy birthday. You don’t look a day over 38! No, really!

OK, enough for the funny macho facade. You look 28, tops. Really.

Many more happy years, my dear. Cheers!

Yeah, what MoldTire said.

Happy (very) belated birthday!

Happy Birtday Shayna!

I bought you some sprinkles! You can’t go wrong with sprinkles. They’re good on everything!

Hey LakeMango69!! How YOU doin’?
