"Evolution" the movie and Howard Stern

I was watching “Evolution” on the satellite the other day and there were two lines that kinda jumped out and made me think…

Someone says, “Now that’s a face for radio.”

and

A guy is describing how an alien attacked him and says, "It reached up and tried to grab my private parts, and I batted it away."

Now, considering this movie was directed by Ivan Reitman, who also directed Howard Stern’s movie “Private Parts,” I was wondering if these two lines were quick little “tributes” or “nods” to Howard.

Anyone have any idea, or am I reading way too much into it?

Technicality: Ivan Reitman PRODUCED “Private Parts,” but it was directed by Betty (“Hill Street Blues”) Thomas.

Wasn’t David Duchovny in that movie? He’s a friend of the show FWIW. Maybe he had something to do with it.

It’s not exactly like “face for radio” is an uncommon expression, really. And “private parts” is a little more PG-13 than, say, “balls.”

I’d say you’re reading too much into it.

I have to agree with Max. I think its a stretch.

Yeah, I agree with Max too. For heaven’s sake, Jack Benny was using regularly using the line, “Now that’s a face for radio,” regularly in his references to Fred Allen in their humorous feud that began in the early 1930s. As a matter of fact, I think Allen even wrote a book with that in the title.

As for “private parts,” it is a very common reference, has been for years.

And I even previewed…Subtract one “using” from the first line and one “regularly” from the second.

Can you tell I’m tired?
