Excuse me while I weep for my Yellow Jackets

There is 1:08 left in the game and the score is Georgia: 15, GT: 12. This will be the sixth year in a row they’ve won the rivalry game. They never won while I was there, and if there was a year we should have won - it was this one.

We are ranked. UGA was not. We have Calvin Johnson (called the #3 receiver in NCAA Football), they don’t.

And we just threw an interception. Great. Fucking great.

As a fellow student, I too weep for our Jackets. Reggie Ball needs to go away.

He was so promising at the beginning, no longer though.

And I’m an ex-GT student. I couldn’t cut it, but I respect GT for soundly kicking my ass.

Glory, glory to ol’ Georgia!
Glory, glory to ol’ Georgia!
Glory, glory to ol’ Georgia!
To heck with Georgia Tech!

Well, you can always take comfort in the thought that your degree is worth something more than the parchment it’s printed on, which is more than a lot of UGA grads can say.

Boo-fuggin’-hoo.

Man, Georgia sure sucked it up in-conference this year, but at least we won the ACC.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Got that right! My pops was a GT man.
And I’m still pissed about the Colorado thing

I was there. 6 in a row is awesome, but I try not to rub it in.
…even if you can’t come up with anything better than a lame “value of your degree” comment (the likes of which were never spoken when Dodd was on the flats).

Oh, and I would call CJ the #1 WR in college football. No question.

Np bro, btw, when was the last time the dawgs won a national title?

I think a healthy Dwayne Jarrett could give him a run for his money. Did you see his catches against Notre Dame? Goddamn. But that’s probably the only guy in the whole of the NCAA this year that’s in CJ’s league. Samardzija’s a playmaker - but he has nothing ability-wise compared to those two.

Personally, I’m really glad Georgia beat Auburn and Tech to gain some momentum for next season/a decent bowl game. That said, I hope Tech kicks the absolute shit out of Wake Forest in the ACC Championship, then goes on to decimate whoever they’re playing in the Orange Bowl. I’d like to see CJ go on one more rampage before his career is over.

And on preview, Ripper — the answer is (as you know) 1980. Tech split one in 1990. Is that supposed to be rubbing it in? They’re both so far off as to be practically historic as far as I’m concerned. Both teams are freaking due.

Is your biggest bragging point a half of a National title that was won 16 years ago, as opposed to the one we one 10 years prior?
Yeah, that really stung.

Also, I was being serious when I said that I don’t like to rub it in. Just about every NCAA team has its demons.

Yeah, but you’re (still, again, like always) 2nd in the State rankings. :stuck_out_tongue:

Uncontested and untied, nonetheless.

When was the last time Tech won one of those. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think you might want to reread my post there, John. It’s subtle.

Ahhh, yes, now I see it. You’re lamenting the fact that top of the line ACC teams are barely competitive against middle of the road SEC teams.

Like usual.

Again.

Well, seeing as Doctor Who is a Dawg fan, I’d say he isn’t lamenting much.

This is not meant as a sleight in any way against the Dawgs, but how do they do in Baseball and Basketball? As I recall they do pretty well in Basketball, but I don’t know anything about NCAA Baseball.

Again, I’m not trying to rile up rivalry, just curious because I don’t follow any NCAA teams other than the Jackets.
