Sorry, I didn’t realise you thought you were making a point worth pursuing. But as you insist on claiming some sort of analogy between one aspect of EU policy and an explictly racist referendum campaign:
- Backing the current, actively pursued EU policy of rescuing asylum seekers;
- Acknowledging that even if the EU were sending gunboats to blow asylum seekers out of the water, conditions in the Middle East and North Africa are sufficently horrific that there would still be people risking their lives to come here
- Regretting that the UK no longer has any position in the EU from which to fight for a better solution.
- Supporting charities and pressure groups fighting for change.
Imagine if the millions of non-racist leave voters were stepping up now and sending a clear signal to the government that they’ve got no business interpreting their vote as a mandate to make the UK unattractive to foreign workers.
But look - in the other thread you were quite clear that you were happy to ally with racists and give them what they want in return for what you want. So that’s fine. All I’ve been asking is that Leave voters acknowledge the bargain they made. Racists are attacking and abusing foreigners on our streets in growing numbers, our government is demonising foreigners in response - some people might think that was a bad outcome that we should try to do something about. But you don’t, you think it’s price worth paying.
There’s not much to add to that really.
