Explain this Zelda t-shirt to me

Now, let me preface this by saying that I am a huge Legend of Zelda fan. However, a shirt I found here, obviously referencing the original Legend of Zelda for the NES, has an item I’ve never seen before. Was it something that was only in the Famicom/Japanese version? It looks sort of like a hammer.

Anyone know what it is?

No answer. Just saying I’ve seen the shirt too and was puzzled by the hammer.

There is a hammer in the SNES version to stamp stakes. Not sure if that applies to the shirt though…

There’s a hammer/mallet type thing in Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the SNES version of the game.

It appears to be the hammer from Zelda II The Adventure of Link.

Ahhh! Zelda 2! Every time I started playing that I stopped not too far in because it sucked so much ass-cock. :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess I never thought to look to another Zelda game since every other item is from the first one. Why put that random item from Zelda II in there?

It looks like “Don’t make me go Zelda on you” is some sort of saying with some random icons thrown in. It’s on others merchandise but without the icons.

I remember I could never even figure out how to get into the first cave or whatever I was supposed to go into.

Zelda 2 was brilliant, you heathens.

WAG: the designer didn’t do his homework. It should have been a bomb or the boomerang.

Zelda 2 was great. Dont blame the game just because you’re too noobish to play well.

The first thing I thought of when I saw it was Mario’s barrel-smashing hammer from Donkey Kong. But alas, it is the Adventures of Link hammer. Brilliant game. Infuriated me to no end.

Zelda 2 was a good game, it’s just that it’s fairly different in style from other early Zeldas.
