Blacks use racism as a basis for evey white on black crime in America when, according to US NEWS and World Report (circa 1998) 75% of hate crimes were done by minorities against whites, of those 90% of those were black on white, 105 were latin on white, asian on white was too minimal to classify)
Still, Its easy for blacks to point and click upon what is and is not racist. It is an easy way for blacks to attack whites in a way that suites not only black poliiticians, but white liberals who have no idea how to see anything but their own view of reality.
Now, asians and native americans DO NOT SHARE the same love of their kind from American politicains. Native Americans still suffer from open racism in sports (Cleveland Indians, Washington Redskins, nNOOOOOO support in terms of representation in Congress, and basically being ignored ny one and all.
Asians, still endure a stereotype that they are either nerds or martial arts experts in Hollywood. Tell me the last romantic lead that was either asian or native American? Blacks have dozens.
Before you label me a racist understand that I am not completely white, but 25% asian (Japanese.)
If you cannot respond on this without being overly emotional, and therefore intellectually inept, keep your childish mouth shut (hippies!)
Have a nice day. Be smart before you speak, I will make you sound stupid. I bet I am smarter than you.
This is a huge discussion, I hope we can do it like educated folk. (Emotional children should stop reading now)
I bet you’re not. And by the way, you spell it “privileged” and “minority”.
This should be moved to The Pit immediately, for entertainment purposes.
Let’s see just how smart you are.
Your capitalization is inconsistent. Try US News and World Report.
**
Parentheses come in pairs, you are missing the ‘(’.
**
This should read, “Still, it’s easy…”.
**
The correct spelling is “politicians”.
**
It is unclear what white liberals have to do with your argument.
**
See above.
**
This time you forgot the ‘)’, and “ny” isn’t a word. Perhaps you meant “by”.
**
This is not a question, but a statement. Either use a period or change “Tell me” to “Who was”.
**
Being overly emotional does not necessarily imply being intellectually inept. I fail to understand what hippies have to with anything you have said.
**
Your education seems to be somewhat lacking. Perhaps you should instead strive to hold a civilized discussion; however, your civility also seems to be lacking.
I’ll take “Bets You Are Certain to Lose” for $100, Alex.
OTB now taking side action on evilbeth. 10-to-1. Cash only.
C’mon guys! Nobody noticed that the black politicians and white liberals were actively putting themselves into mutiple-room hotel accomodations? This is simply a travesty! (Although this is the first time I’ve seen suite used as a verb.)
jamesblan, there is the kernel of a genuine discussion in your OP. Unfortunately, you loaded it down with so much emotional baggage, (while demanding that your respondants be less emotional than you have been), that I doubt that we’ll see that discussion, now.
The next time you would like a discussion (or even a debate), try laying out a genuine defensible thesis in a coherent manner.
As to how smart you may be, pulling in your horns, here, might keep you from getting chewed up by the really smart people who may happen to come by, later (if they bother with you).
And to think all this time I’ve been harboring the biased belief that all you Asians were real smart and good spellers and stuff.
It just goes to show you how far this board can go towards erasing ignorance and bigotry.
cues “God Bless America”
Dang, Cranky beat me to it.
Second the motion to move this to the Pit, pronto. [sub]pretty please?![/sub]
And, er, shouldn’t the instruction to “emotional children” to “stop reading now” have been put at the beginning of the OP, instead of the end? Just think, all those emotional children who have now been warped forever by reading the complete OP, when a more timely warning could have saved them.
Such as?
Besides Billy Dee Williams.
Denzel Washington?
Wesley Snipes?
Morgan Freeman?
Umm…
Can’t you think of the Children? Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the Children?
Will Smith?
Damon Wayans?
Keenan Wayans?
Marlon Wayans?
And then there are the two guys named Samuel Jackson, with different middle initials, the one guy was in Pulp Fiction and the other guy was in Die Hard III, right? With glasses?
So that’s 10, more or less, depending on whether you want to count Morgan Freeman and any of the Wayanses as “romantic leads”.
James Earl Jones? But he hardly ever gets top billing…
ummm, Duck et al, I’m not certain that the mods will, on a general basis move a thread to the pit until after it becomes clear that the thread content has become pit material. The Original poster certainly fits the bill, but so far, the thread material seems to not fall into that description. I’d suspect that they’d be none too happy about people adding in gratiutous pit language to cause it to be moved (seem to recall folks being warned about that),
however, none of this precludes anyone of submitting a brand new shiny pit thread in honor of the OP, with a link to this one (which then could die a less than dignified death, as deserved).
As for the OP, I’m still waiting for my official ballot so’s I can vote for the ‘most privileged minority’. Can’t be official 'til all the votes have been counted, ya know.
Oh, hey, Duck, you forgot Mr. T.
“I pity the fool who don’t think I’m romantic!”
Samuel L. Jackson starred in both Pulp Fiction & Die Hard III (remember that age old Hollywood trick, putting glasses on anyone makes 'em look completely different.
You can be nonwhite and still racist against black people. Happens all the time. Overheard a Chinese kid the other day: “I really don’t think that black people are as smart as other races.”
There are even black people who are racist against black people. There is no shield against it.

Ah… Eddie Murphy the jackass romancing the Dragon in “Shrek”
The examples are endless…
Well, in terms of Native American representation to Congress, the most recent person I can think of is Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-CO), who is still active in the senate. However, you’re right that civil rights for Asians and Native Americans have been, and still are, largely neglected. As to why that is, it seems like blacks have been much more successful in organizing and promoting a civil rights agenda, and also because there are more blacks in America than there are Asians or Native Americans. (2000 census data estimates suggest that about 12.8% of the population is black, 4.1% Asian, and 1% Native American. I think this also has an impact.
james, is this a joke? all we hear about on the Native American front lately is the changing of team mascots and names. Ask the University of Illinois’ mascot all about that. And my alma mater in Rochester, NY just recently had to change the name of their team from the Chiefs to “The Rock” which I can’t even begin to comment on.
And really, I’m glad that Congress isn’t sitting around discussing the Cleveland Indian’s mascot…I’d much prefer they work on things that actually effect the progress of the nation.
(Besides, I’m scared someone’s going to take away my beloved Blackhawks jersey!)
have a nice day.
jarbaby
Well, he is 75% Anglo, at least by implication. Maybe the Asian genes were what kept him from completely blotching up that OP.
Though I side with Yue Han on this one – whites don’t have a monopoly on racism. Everybody has the potential to be a jerk.
