I also don’t see what’s racist, sexist, or offensive about that. She may very well have requested that he tie her up first. Some girls are into that.
I don’t think so. I’ve heard tell it was a bootleg Atari 2600 game, but my memory tells me I had it for my Commodore 64.
Yes, “Custer’s Revenge” was a 2600 game, as I mentioned upthread. The Angry Video Game Nerd featured it and several other early pornographic games in one of his shows.
Well for porn I had Latex the game in college. A point and click adventure where you were rewarded with porn clips. Terrible as a game and terrible as porn.
Anyway depending on how loosely you define ‘game’ there’s been thousands of porn games for PC (and that’s not including Japanese games).
It wasn’t even “bootleg”. Atari 2600 development was a pretty interesting thing since it wasn’t that difficult to reverse engineer the code the system used (rather infamously two teens with an early cable based game service used it to create Bump n’ Jump) and a lot of former Atari coders got fed up with the company and set out to found their own development houses. The important bits for the cartridges and programmer weren’t protected by patents and so anyone could come along and make their own for relatively little cost. Consequently a few companies tried their hand at “pornography” though the quality of it is so low I don’t think we can really call it porn.
This whole market situation is generally considered to be one of the major factors in the crash of '84. When the Japanese manufacturers came in they protected their systems a bit more and set up licensing programs so that the market couldn’t get flooded again. (You’ll note that it didn’t stop Atari and a few others from reverse engineering Nintendo’s coding methods and releasing unlicensed titles but this time around the expense was much higher and the profits clearly weren’t there…)
The PC, of course, has none of that. Anyone with a free compiler and a few minutes of time can make a game and distribute it to anyone they want. There’s no centralization and so short of government controls no one is going to stop people from making anything.
Yep, I think that was the one. Thanks…I think. Ugh.
So true! Maybe Custer and his hapless lady friend were really just one of the country’s earliest S&M couples.
Sorry, dzieger, I missed your post the first time around. Thanks for the clarification- and the introduction to AVGN. I just spent half an hour at cinemassacre, cracking up the whole time.
Yeah, that pretty much sums up most adult-oriented PC games. Sounds nice in theory, because porn is stimulating right? But the best porn is simply porn. If what you want is an interactive sexual experience, I would highly recommend sex.
Who produced that?
Genesis, a subsidiary of IRL Studios Ltd.
It’s the blast processing that makes it so good.
I think I picked up an early release version.
A lot of people thought Carmaggeddon to be in pretty poor taste, but it looks tame compared to some upthread suggestions. And what about GTA - didn’t one of those involve selling someone’s daughter into prostitution? And there was the drug-selling ice cream van in one of them, too. OK, not exactly raping Native Americans, but caused plenty of outcry at the time all the same.
I’ll admit I haven’t played any GTA game for any prolonged period of time, so my opinion may not be valid, but from what I’ve seen of it I’ve always taken it to be, at least on some level, a sort of affectionate parody/satire on the over the top sex/drugs/violence thing. Sort of a “okay, let’s pretend everything gangsta rappers talk about was commonplace and true” thing.
Edit: Though I suppose it’s still debatable even if my impression is true exactly how much leeway being a satire gives it in that department. In other words, is it still sick/too much if it’s doing it in (at least part) jest.
Oppai Slider 2, for one.
Holy shit. I think that one wins if it really as bad as it sounds in your link.
