Eye, it's what's for dinner

Well, you gotta watch what you eat.

So what’s for dessert? See’s candies?

Apparently they can in Texas.

I suppose that whatever happens it is a (very very) small blessing that he will find it extremely difficult to spot a new victim. A blind homicidal insane dude is probably less a danger to those around him than a sighted one.

Nah. He just wants the eyecing on the cake.

Mmmmmmmm, eyeball; the other other white meat.

I wonder what he’ll request for his last meal before being executed?

I dunno…but his last words may be “socket to me”…

Apparently an eye for an eye leaves the whole world full.

“Sorry, sir, you ate the last one.”

And it comes in ready-made meat balls!

Eyetalian, of course.

Yes, I know I punned twice off the same set up line.

The problem is that the standard is that for someone to be considered to be incapable of being punished for their actions while insane, they must be unaware that what they were doing was wrong. That leaves a lot of people whom I’d consider to be severely mentally ill who are being held accountable for their actions.

It’s not sufficient for someone to be obviously and visibly insane - they have to be insane in such a way as to be unable to recognize that their actions are wrong.

I have no idea what evidence was presented to the courts so they considered this yahoo to be able to be held accountable for his actions. FTM, I don’t know that I’d find the evidence compelling. But, I can imagine several scenarios where I’d find it hard to believe that the person from the OP didn’t recognize what he was doing was wrong.

Thirty-two posts and not an untoward thought uttered. Off to MPSIMS with you.

You really don’t know much about Texas, do you?

Hey, it didn’t make me raise an eyebrow.

Eying this thread, I don’t see what’s so funny.

I tried but I need some shuteye…

Jeepers creepers!

Wonder if they’re calling him Not Peeping Tom yet?

Pizza the Hut?
Leave this guy alone long enough, maybe…

I heard this guy really loves Tom Cruise movies. His favorite is “Eyes Wide Shut.”

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the idea that someone that murders their wife and children, pockets their organs and eats his own eyeballs could not be deemed insane by any logical standard that measures insanity!
