What a race! If you’ve got an opportunity to watch the highlights later today, do so. You won’t be disappointed. Thrills, spills, awesome recoveries, this race had it all.
It was quite interesting.
Add to that strategic decisions with significant consequences, a most unfortunate malfunction, and a terrific start from the grid.
And what a drive by Hamilton! And poor old DC.
Hamilton showed that he really does have a talent for the actual driving. It’s his peripherals and strategy decisions that let him down. Half of them are only so public because he drives for a leading team.
I felt sorry for Red Bull Racing. DC going out on the first lap was cruel, but Webber, who put them on the front row of the grid for the first time ever, went from 3rd to last in the blink of an eye. That could have turned out badly, but the other cars were all in a line.
Massa too, of course - but I can’t muster the same level of sympathy for Ferrari. The quality of their strategic decision making has declined since Brawn and Schumacher left… Oh woe is us.
That’s absolutely the kind of race that I like to watch. If all of them could have that many position changes, and that much uncertainty, life would be just dandy.
I saw last half. Great race.
I think if this race had a theme song it would be slip sliding away.
