Just one thing. They aren’t “encouraging people to be social,” they are encouraging people to become active billboards for the ads available. They don’t in any way care whether you actually have friends; they just care about getting fresh ad revenue.
I have reported apps for forcing you to invite people, calling it spam. And, what do ya know? They started forcing apps to at least have a skip button. People don’t mind helping you get ad revenue, as long as they think it’s fair.
Yeah, wool from the sheep, eggs from the hens, truffles from the pigs, milk from the cows and goats, down from the duck, and angora fur from the rabbit. Someone gifted me with two horses–I don’t know what I’ll get from them (I’m speculating that it just might be fertilizer).
I have farms in Farmville, Farm Town, and Farm Pals. I am also a Bejeweled Blitz addict.
If anyone needs neighbors to expand, I’m (heh) game! I need at least one more to expand in Farmville!
I enjoyed Elven Blood for a while, tho’ having to recruit new party members was annoying. I run a town in Metropolis and have a largely inactive Sex Games account (much too repetitive). Otherwise I’ve pretty much steered clear.
I got requests to join Farm Town, so I did. I played for maybe an hour and never played again, but now I have 40 some Farm Town related requests. I tried some other games (I suck at Bejeweled Blitz, for instance), but the only one I “play” is D&D Tiny Adventures, which is a really dumb game. I think I like it because I can start an adventure when I get home from work, and then when I go to bed I go and look how it turned out. Hmm, that sounds lame. I have no idea why I play it.
Only Lexulous. None of the others have caught my interest. Well I do love me Bejeweled, but I already play that on my iPhone where I have a nice collection of high scores that I can’t transfer, so that is going to remain my Bejeweled platform of choice.
I am hooked on Mafia Wars and I’ve purposely avoided other games because I’m hooked on this one and figure that I only have so much time to waste on it.
As with everyone else who plays, I’ll gladly be your buddy and be on your crew.
My big obsession is MyZoo. It’s an app where you build a zoo from the ground up, working thru levens as you go, earning the right to buy more animals and properties. Really, really fun, and you have to put thought into which animals to breed, etc.
Also, Pet Pupz, cute Catz & Happy Horse… where you ‘adopt’ virtual animals, pick the breed, sex, color, personality traits. You have to keep it fed, train it,and compete with friends for points. LOVE this one!
It’s very simple. Not much thought required. You send fish and coral to people and the more gifts you send, the better gifts you unlock, pretty much like all the other games.
The sort of fun part is that you get to arrange and display your gifts on a virtual reef and you have to tend it and have your friends tend it and so on.
What I like about it is that there’s really no need to bother your own friends about it. They have lists of other users from all over the world and you can send them gifts for points/to get them to come visit and tend your reef/to get them to send gifts in return. Also, it’s supposed to be charity-ish in that they say they donate money to save real coral reefs when you add square feet to your personal account. And there’s a comment wall so that people can say stuff like “I like your reef” or “congratulations on getting a sea turtle” or “hello from Indonesia” or whatever.
I play Vampire Wars, Mafia Wars, & Castle Age the most, Age of Castles, Reign of Vampires, Pirates of the Carribean, and a few others sometimes. Started on Farm Town & Farmville & got respectfully large farms, but don’t play much anymore. Except Farmville is selling all sorts of cool Halloween stuff right now so I think I’m going to have to open it up a bit.
It began with Vampire Wars on my personal “real me” account, then quickly spread to a second game account so I could rack up hundreds of friends.
I’m starting to burn out now though. Except for Castle Age. They had to go and introduce dragon fighting and the Keira boss fight. Today it was glitching more than usual and I’ve gotten two or three free energy & stamina refills. Woot!
I don’t have one, but my Dad is addicted to Street Racing. He can steel my computer for 4+ hours playing it. He used to play Mafia Wars, but didn’t like the idea of having to kill people.
