Every now and then, like now, I go to Facebook and all I see is one post. There is nothing to scroll down to. And every time I click on Home I see a different post. I clicked on Newsfeed preferences, top stories and most recent
So what’s the question?
When you scroll to the end of that Newsfeed is there a message suggesting how to see more News?
That happened to me for a while. Facebook told me to search for more Friends if I wanted more News. This, despite that Friends I already had were making posts that Facebook wasn’t presenting to me in my Newsfeed. But recently, Facebook presents me with a long Newsfeed as before. I think Facebook assigns its users to different experimental groups. You may have been enrolled in the “Encourage this victim to search for more Friends” experiment. Perhaps you’ll escape from this experiment after several weeks as I did.
Remember that Facebook isn’t there to serve you. You are there to serve Facebook. If you’re not actively clicking and identifying new Friends to assist Facebook in mapping hundreds of billions of connections among the planet’s humans, then you are obstructing Facebook from its task and it may try to modify your behavior.
It’s happening again. I closed out Facebook for a while. Came back an hour later and everthing was normal. Browsed around and made a few posts, and now again I only see one post at the top of my news feed. I can’t even see the post I made 30 seconds ago.
It’s typically a network or session problem. Your feed data is interrupted somehow. You can often just refresh or hit the home button, but if the underlying communication issue persists then it won’t help.
