Facebook pictures tinted blue

I was looking around on facebook and two of the many accounts I visited had pictures that were basically obscured by a blue tint. I tried googleing it but had no results. Is this some kind of security setting? Its not that I cannot access them at all, I just cannot get a good look at them.

Incorrect white balance, perhaps?

Digital photos taken under daylight (or flash) conditions with the white balance set to ‘Tungsten’ will exhibit a blue cast.

Are you sure you didn’t have them highlighted? It’s easy to do if you accidentally drag your mouse across them. Try clicking somewhere else on the page to see if you can deselect them.

Missed the edit.

Lazy Cat in Daylight

Lazy cat in Tungsten

Or what Joey P said.

Lazy Cat ‘accidentally’ selected

Those cats must be related. They all look very similar.

The pictures with the blue tint wouldn’t be PNGs by any chance?

Old versions of IE did that to PNGs with an alpha channel, and I’m sure there are still some similar rendering bugs about.

Isn’t lazy cat redundant? Isn’t lazy cat redundant?

It was definitely not a problem with the pictures, per se, as the thumbprint images were normal. I went back, and it was indeed that I was accidently highlighting them. Peculiar, because it happened twice last night but never before.

All images on you post on Facebook are JPEGs–even if you are trying to upload a logo that would look better as a PNG. It’s one of those little annoyances.

Are you taking Viagra?

It has become frustratingly easy to accidentally highlight facebook pics, noted by blue tint.

Exit the pic/album… Go back to album/pic… and carefully open the pic again without indiscriminate use of your mouse.
