Failblog workbook exercise: is there an answer to it?

As much as I was amused by this pic on Failblog, it did get me wondering if there was an intended answer (other than “none”), or if there was some kind of mix up or chain-yanking going on.

Can anyone think of a legit solution? I tried going through the comments, but not only are most of the suggestions unhelpful, something about it “freezes” the page before it finishes loading, probably because it’s so long.

I think the point is that the puzzle is unintelligible and has no answer.

“Known for causing humorous fatal accidents”

One of the posts links to the (apparent) answer:

I think the point is that there is no remotely obvious answer.

What is that animal that is not the whale?

They’re all screwed.
The penguin is standing in front of a train.
The boot is getting hit by the whale’s tail.
The piano is falling on the train.
The whale is stranded out of the water.
The piano is getting kicked by the boot.

They are all black, apparently. (Yes, I can think of plenty of non-black boots and trains as well. And that whale is gray unless they forgot the “make it a killer whale” part.)

They all make noise? (Okay, the boot only makes noise if you stomp with it, but give me credit for trying)

All five are nouns.
All five are inanimate, except for the whale and the penguin.

Badly drawn objects?
