Maybe, as a suggestion, don’t search out odd stories to link to. If it’s really unusual and some truth is involved, it’ll get picked up by the real news agencies. Then after reading and or listening you’ll get the real story.
I always wait a couple days if I see these odd tales. Especially now with the way people are looking for anything to report against the others.
There are real stories of distress. We don’t need added on ones, so a poster can be first in line to open a thread.
“A teacher several years ago informed a Fairfax County principal that a school social worker had facilitated an abortion for a student”
and now
“There are recent online allegations about school staff arranging abortions for students, and now the Virginia State Police are investigating the Fairfax County school system to see when and what they originally knew of any such allegations.”
We’re still quite a ways out from any evidentiary confirmation that any such alleged abortion facilitation actually happened even once, much less multiple times.
Especially because the first two dozen posts were about how suspiciously thin the story appeared on its own merits, without any reference at all to the OP’s dodgy relationship with objective reality. That didn’t come up until your own comment in post 25. So even aside from that established history, solely in the context of this specific story, it speaks poorly of the OP’s critical thinking skills that they thought it had “credence” while everyone else who looked at it immediately responded with a skeptical Spock eyebrow. A skepticism which has since proved to be exceptionally well founded.
I grew up near there, in Reston, and attended Herndon High School. Not sure if this is more shocking or prevalent than in any other Virginia county. Fairfax County has a reputation for being more liberal and affluent than other parts of the state (although Centreville is one of the more struggling/blue collar parts of the county), which may make it a bigger target for Younkgin and the Fox News outlets. In these days of AI buzz, I really wish some version of this story had a human byline attached to it.
Right-wing rage farmers can effortlessly shift to screeching about how a school nurse who is paid through taxpayer funds discussed ABORTION with a student.
