How can such a site exist? They offer a “fake ID kit” that “allow[s] anyone to make a new identity”. The kit includes:

Instructions on how to do this by adopting the identity of a deceased child or infant (!)
Contains general strategies for disappearing, includes other random insights which may or may not be of use to you in your search for a new beginning.

Official college transcripts?? How the hell can it be official if all of these things are (by the site’s own admission) fake? They do say this:

How can they sell copyrighted software like Adobe & WinZip for $20? If this is legal, then why don’t they just sell a fake U.S. currency printing press too? Great fun! Fool your local merchants! Try not to get arrested!
The only thing I can think of is that maybe it’s a sting and the feds are trying to round up green card counterfeiters, et. al.

The software (such as Adobe Photoshop) is either shareware or demo versions. You’d have to register (and pay for it) when the demo ran out.
The site says “We don’t sell novelty fake ids we show you how to create your very own using your home computer.” It’s not worded very well, but what they’re trying to say is that they don’t sell fake ID’s for novelty value, they sell the kits that let YOU make fake ID’s, for novelty value only.
Legit(?) fake I.D. sites do not sell I.D. that looks like the real thing. For example, a New Jersey I.D. looks like some sort of I.D., but not the real thing.
The ones that require you to ‘do it yourself’ are no help either. They look like ID cards, but not state-issued cards.
I’ve seen some examples from various sites via some young co-workers, and my co-workers got rooked (scammed). They are useless as “genuine fakes”.
The holograms don’t match either.
I work in the credit industry, and I was alarmed to hear of these sites, but they are useless in issuing ID’s that would fool anyone.
The net allows plenty of stuff you wouldn’t believe. Why not fake IDs?
There is a master program that is used to make state DMV licenses, the real program, that was floating around the net a couple years back. Possession of that program is a felony. Now, there is something illegal
I searched those sights a while back looking for ID for my 20 yo girlfriend. For $80-$100 they will give you something that looks like it could be a drivers license in a distant state, but if the bouncer pulls the book out and checks then its going to be an early night.
oh well… looks like i will just have to go out with my friends instead until she turns 21… could be worse.
Not to encourage illegal behavior, billyt123, but could your gf borrow another woman’s ID for the night? This only works if the other woman’s over 21, natch. I don’t know how careful the bouncers are in your town, but my freshman college roommate Tiffany would always show me the ID she’d been using the night before, and usually it didn’t resemble her in the slightest.
I lent my (slightly) younger bro one of my two drivers licenses when we went to grab some food n jazz at a Georgetown club, they let him in.
Now granted, there is a familial resemblance, but the names were identical on the ID he and I gave.
We would have gone somewhere else if they had made a fuss.
Most bouncers that I know only care if the managers give them an incentive (10 dollars per id confiscated and a 6 pack per ID are two used around here)
She does have a bad out of state ID that will work in dive bars, but to get into the more up-class breweries and clubs I’d feel better with something a little more realistic (eye color is all wrong, says shes 8 inches shorter, and from south dakota) So I am keeping my eye out for a better one but I’m not going to throw down a hundred for nothing.
I don’t know if that site is legal or not, but I do know that it’s close enough to the borderline that we probably shouldn’t be linking there. Meanwhile, for the rest of you here, please do not discuss means of fooling bouncers or faking IDs. The Reader can’t allow discussions of how to break the law here, even if you may think that it’s a silly law.
