If you haven’t done so yet, check out the Fallout 3 website - they’ve got screenshots up from Operation Anchorage, I think it is.
Or at least some guard or something that simply says, “You cannot enter now. Come back later.”
Is that… is that… a gauss rifle?
Looks like it might be, yes. I’d guess that or a pulse rifle, but there looks to be a scope on the thing. And some coils or whatsits. I do believe you’re right, sir.
In a way it makes sense to have that as DLC, to entice more people to get the add-ons. I would have anyway, but…
That’s weird… I thought I linked to the larger image. Ah well.
But yeah, I’m glad that it isn’t just me thinking that’s the good ol’ whip crakkah.
They better not make it the pulse rifle or, well… I’ll still buy the extra content as I shake my fist at Bethesda.
As it is, though, I never shelled out the cash to get the Xbox’s internet adapter. Although I might some day… chances are I’ll wait until Bethesda does something like what they did with Oblivion and releases the downloadable stuff on a separate DVD. Then again, with Oblivion, they only included some of the downloadable stuff on the separate DVD, and I like Fallout 3 a hell of a lot more. I may have to shell out for one of those silly adapters.
Bah, humbug.
Maybe you right clicked on the thumbnail and accidentally selected to copy the image address instead of the link target address, and ended up with the thumbnail’s address?
Huh ? Adapter ? Whatcha talkin’ about, Willis ? My Xbox is plugged into my computer’s LAN socket with regular CAT-5 cable (and treated as another PC sharing the connection), I never thought there was any other way to connect to XBLive
There’s an Xbox branded wireless bridge, which I got because it was just easier, but you can use a generic one.
I’m a bit confused as to how they intend to implement the add-ons, though. In both Morrowind and Oblivion they were actual new parts of the same world where you could bring your existing character. Can’t see how they’ll pull that off with Op:A, which supposedly takes place over 200 years before Fallout 3. I think.
Haven’t really thought about that one before. Is it just going to be a big battle, or will you have quests and sidequests? Anyone know?
Sounds about right.
???
Those motherfuckers! Every single gaming/big box store I’ve ever asked about this, they’ve said that Microsoft employs proprietary technology so that only an official Xbox wifi adapter will allow it to work online. I have a generic wifi adapter or two lying somewhere around the house, the kind you used to have to use on laptops before they all came with built-in cards. My desktop/router is in another room and I don’t want to drill through the wall or run a wire across the floor/ceiling, but damn… my regular old wifi adapter would be fine?
Would that really work with my 360 and all the retail monkeys have been trying to con me into buying a $100.00 piece of plastic?
I have no experience with Wi-Fis themselves (I’ll keep my cables that happen to work all the time, thankyouverymuch), but I don’t see why not. An Xbox is just a PC with a specific list of components, after all.
Can’t hurt to try your old adapters - the worst thing that could happen is the link doesn’t work, there’s absolutely no risk of frying your 360.
Yup. If I had a dollar for every customer I’d talked out of buying the Expensive Microsoft Wireless Thing and told them to just use their existing Wireless Router, I’d be posting this from my Private Yacht in the South Pacifc by now…
The first screenies from Operation: Anchorage are out:
Yah, and now that you mention it, that scoped rifle looks like a gauss rifle.
I’m starting to think that the biggest flaw in the game is that it’s way too quick and easy to level. If you decide to get out and explore the wasteland before tackling the main quest, you can easily reach level 20 before you have expored even 1/10th of the locations. By that time you may also have obtained skills and perks and equipment that pretty much ensure that you can win any fight. Four Deathclaws and a squad of Enclave soldiers? No problem! My Firelance, combined with my 10 luck and various perks to raise my critical hit chance and so forth means all it takes is maybe two rounds of VATS (if I even feel like going into VATS for such paltry opposition).
I think next go-round I’m gonna have to go with a melee-only approach to make things more interesting.
That’s what I did… unarmed and explosives only (I have no idea how I’m going to take out turrets)
Interestingly, it’s much easier in combat not to use VATS, or at least, that’s what I’m finding at level 3. Just run up and swing away. “Blocking” is also a lot more effective against enemies with melee weapons.
I was thinking about the leveling thing. I remember in Tactics, I got to level 21 or so quite easily, but the next level took some serious grinding, to the tune of multiple large robot encounters, with behemoths. (Hey, there were behemoths in that game too).
Still, a removal of the level cap, or at least raising it to 30 or 40, plus a steeper leveling curve would be nice.
The thing is, I have no idea what the Melee skill really does. My toon has 30something tops, yet a few Shishkebab slashes kill most critters, and VATS always gives me 95% chance to hit :dubious:.
I percivered. I did 3-dog’s mission. Got the cache (though haven’t been to check it out yet.
By sheer accident I bumped into the android at rivet-city. And ended up with the plasma rifle. (perfect condition) From that point on I was flying along!
Then I went for a walk up to that big place that looks a bit like the white-house (what the hell do I know, I’m not American) and it is swarming with super-mutants and (I hate how crap my memory is for names) those black-clad men who have a contract to kill me. LOOAAADS of XP from going through that place - though there seems to be nothing ‘about’ the place other than that it’s swarming with enemies.
I never went there first time round.
There is merit in re-playing the game - Even if you don’t switch from good to evil.
No.
I can resist anything except for temptation and that would be far too tempting as far as spoilers.
I have used an online guide a couple of times when I suspected I might have broken a quest and didn’t want to waste time if there would be no way to complete it.
Why do you ask?
