Fallout 3

Funny, I just read this casting list for Rob Zombie’s upcoming Halloween 2, and one of the new characters is named…Deputy Sarah Lyons!

Anyone heard anything about the official downloadable content? The last I read it was supposed to be in January, Feb. and March. But I don’t see anything about it on the official site (granted I haven’t slogged through the whole site).

Ok, I’m stuck.

In the Reilly’s Rangers quest, I walk the overpass from the hospital to Statesman’s Hotel and enter. I kill all the mutants on two floors . . . but there’s nowhere for me to go. My map says I should head for the restaurant, but there’s no way to get there. Worse, there’s no way to get anywhere, since getting into the hotel meant dropping through a hole in a ceiling and there are no other entrances available to me. I’m stuck in the hotel.

Help?

IIRC there is a way to keep going up until you get to the roof (it’s been a while). I don’t remember how I got there though. There was a link earlier in the thread too an online Fallout guide that probably has your answer though if you want to dig back a couple of pages.

(For my own use I’m going to try out this increased spawning mod tonight too see how it works)

:mad::mad: angry PS3 owner :mad::mad:

Are we not getting any DLC? :frowning:

Go ahead and get his Diverse Creatures mod while you’re at it.

Increased Spawning is great. It’s scary when you see 1…2…3…4…oh, shit, how many super mutants is that?!

Is it not coming out for the PS3 as well? I know they mentioned the XBox 360 version will be coming out at the same time.

Sucks…as far as I can tell there is no official date for the first part (Operation Anchorage), just ‘some time in January’. There is an interesting article on (IIRC) IGN that talks about the first part. It’s going to be a computer simulation that you find in some building similar to Tranquility Lane that was supposedly used by the army before the war to train soldiers and test ‘what if’ scenarios.

Sounds pretty cool though when you enter the sim you lose all your goodies and have to play with only what you find inside. Also…no change in the level cap until the 3rd installment apparently. :frowning:

Still…can’t wait!

You can keep going up using stairwells, generally not the same stairwell for more than one floor as there’s lots of rubble in them. Makes you have to crawl nearly every floor.

Haven’t tried that one yet. Is it pretty cool? Definitely want to try the increased spawning mod though.

Last night I tried out Ghoul Manor…was like being in a Night of the Living Dead horror movie. Was actually a bit over the top…there were too many ghouls to do more than try and run backwards and sweep from side to side with a mini-gun. Spray and pray mode, for sure.

Sounds good to me. My once concern would be when the raiders in Death Canyon respawn. The guy who made that mod obviously tweaked the raider stats so having a bunch of them respawn may be a bit of a challenge.

It’s obviously not to the level that MMM for Oblivion yet. That one had about 300 new/reskinned creatures. But he’s already added a few. Plus size scaling, stat scaling, and some changes to wildlife behavior (it’s nice that not *every *mole rat and rad scorpion attacks now). Here’s the link to his thread.

No - Microsoft I guess paid a bunch of money to have exclusive DLC for XBox 360 and PC only.

That sucks. :frowning: I did notice that to ‘buy’ these things cost Microsoft Credits…I think it was like 800 credits, whatever that costs in real money terms.

80 points is $1.00, but you can only buy points in lots of 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 (with no savings for buying higher lots).

Found my way out of Statesman’s Hotel. I’m an idiot. I went back and forth over ever inch of that second floor at least half a dozen times, and still missed the door to the other stairwell tucked into a corner.

Also, I think I might have a different idea about what constitutes “evil” than the people at Bethesda. In Rivet City I gave some free Jet (or maybe Psycho) to the resident drug addict, and they gave me bad karma for it. Sheesh. Since we don’t seem to be able to sober him up, I figured I’d at least ease his pain for a little while.

Another question on the main quest - are there many more places to visit within the main quest line after you go to Vault 87?

Reason I ask is because I’ve avoided going there (since upthread someone mentioned things get urgent after that) so I’ve been wandering the wasteland, just exploring and killing things.

But I realized I will probably end up coming across locations that are part of the storyline, and I want to encounter those while doing the quest. Kind of silly, but it’s anticlimactic to get to a stage in a quest only to realize you’ve already wiped out the inhabitants.

Man, though, this game is huge. It’s great exploring, popping up the sniper scope to see what looks interesting, heading that way. Last nite I wandered into the strangest scene - a bunch of wastelanders taking on some Deathclaws. Which led to Deathclaw Sanctuary, and its oodles of loot, including Vengeance.

There’s only one new location in the main quest after Vault 87 (you do revisit some others), and I’m pretty sure you can’t get into it before you’re supposed to.

I wonder if you are joking. The game’s idea of good can be quite sophisticated at times. Tough love (not enabling an addict) is considered a good thing.
On that note, I was surprised when I got positive karma for suddenly and without warning opening fire on the grown-ups at Paradise Falls. They’d allowed me into their place and there I am - massacring them all.

There are other times when getting positive karma surprised me. I can’t remember them though. One was being forced to kill a guy I didn’t want to kill.

Has anyone done the Shoot em in the Head quests? I’ve had this one hanging out in my quest log for a while and not sure how to handle it. My friend told me last night that I need to do at least part of it though if I want to get the T51-B armor though.

BTW, anyone gotten the named Chinese Assault rifle yet? I did the mini-quest in the Museum of Tech last night and know where Prime is, but it’s not on my map so going to have to search for it still. Just wondering if it’s worth it. I have a mod that turns the named CAR into an AK-94 that fires .308 rounds (in a 30 round clip)…which is the main reason I’m searching for the thing.
